  1. Wow that's an awesome clutch! I bet it grabbed real good! I say don't let the height problem stop this project. Maybe as someone else stated you could lift it a little, and you could also have, like you stated, a big ole power bulge!! Can't wait to see this progress!!
  2. Yeah those things are really cool! I'd love to have one! Definitely a collection item!!
  3. Looks like it was a lot of fun! Makes me wanna go out! Sucks to be the guy with the WRX who ripped the bumper cover off:-\! And gotta love the BOV! The in car shots are cool too!
  4. That is a good question! Hopefully it's nothing internally in the tranny!
  5. Does the OBD1 system make it a lot easier to do the swap?
  6. I think you guys understood what I was saying, I should have been clearer. I didn't mean the actual rear end as in the differential, I meant the rear end of the car
  7. I would personally try to find one from another Subaru. They don't fail that often. But it would just bolt and plug right in!
  8. I meant the rear end of the vehicle. I should have been more specific. Sorry bout that
  9. The tank is right under the rear end. It just bolts up into place. The fuel pump in front and to the left of the tank.
  10. It doesn't sound like a bad price, my grandparents bought an 02 outback for 13k. So it sounds alright to me. The advantages to buying from a dealer are that HOPEFULLY everything or anything that needs to be or needed to be replaced or fixed was done, but of course there is no real guarantee to that. I would ask to see what was done to it before they put it out on the lot. Also see what kind of warranty they offer
  11. sure why not:lol: My point was that the exhaust is meant to go far enough back for safety reasons and partially for the motor. I have had exhaust that is in terrible condition as well but if possible it should really be fixed.
  12. I want one! I love the styling of the RX It kind of looked like a vintage rally car, it sat up tall!
  13. It also has to do with the fact that the axles just aren't quite long enough and it puts a bunch of stress on the boots. You'll notice also that the passenger side ones usually don't last as long because they sit above the cat, so the heat wears them out as well
  14. Looks great! I know I'm jealous!
  15. Ok cool. Just please let me know ahead of time next time. And a side note, you should get it fixed not just for the cops but because your exhaust really should go further back than before the cat:-\. Good luck with it!
  16. I love my SPFI conversion on my Brat!!!
  17. Man I wish we had those around here! I'm lucky to find one, pre 98 subaru in any yards!
  18. That's what I've been told several times, something about the timing being advanced. I've never had a 2WD one to try so I've never done it
  19. ahhh, well I guess when you do pull the tranny you will have to count the splines. Then you will know if it is a turbo tranny or not...I hate it when people screw with stuff and they really don't know what they are doing! It makes a lot more work for the next person
  20. Very nice!
  21. So do you still need the y-pipe?
  22. You could only use the stub shafts if you stayed with the turbo axles. They should just pop out I can't remember details. But if you use the stub shafts out of your tranny they will only fit turbo axles which you'll have to remember if you ever order new axles
  23. Aren't you the one that I was talking to?!?! Just read other post! Yup it was you! Are you gonna try to make it to Carlisle?
