  1. Ohhhh ok but what if I dont have a tap? Sheet metal screws?
  2. Ok guys took my bumper off and bought me some lights. I wana mount them in front of the grille on the top of the bumper. My dilemma is how do I hold the nut on the inside of the bumper? Seems the spor on the back of it were I can stick my hand through only reaches to a certain point and that point seems to end up slightly behind the grille. Can someone explain exactly how to do it?
  3. Under the bumper I think then I found that strip. Can I get away with mounting some 6" rounds on that without worrying about road crap hitting it? It doesnt snow here ever lol.
  4. I get kinda a whine when in 4th gear during acceleration, any ideas?
  5. With the car on try moving the key slightly towards the off position while your wipers are on the on position. This happened to me, turned out my ign. switch was going bad.
  6. :mad:We see this all the time in Puerto Rico too, sad part abut it is that usually the drunk driver walks away uninjured
  7. Forgot to say its a FWD. Second gear is also kinda tricky is that normal? Gotta pull back and kinda towards the driver to get it to catch, they finiky like this? This is my first stick shift ever so bare with me plz lol:banana:

  9. They look like diamonds in the rough to me keep us posted:grin:
  10. Doesnt make the noise anytime other than letting off the gas at higher RPM. Its like a loud thud and if I press the gas for a second and let it go again it makes the same noise arghhhhhhhhhh lol.
  11. Would some pics help at all? Im the second owner of the car and dont have any info on what was done to the exhaust... I dont wana damage the tranny, and is really irritating in traffic.
  12. 87' GL Wagon EA-82 engine, dont know any details on the tranny other than its a 5spd from another GL wagon. No flex joints anywere just solid pipe all the way back and it is mounted with a bolt to the rear of the tranny.
  13. Ok first of all just finished the 5 speed swap. The guy that did it told me the tranny was hitting the muffler. It only happens when letting off the throttle at higher RPM and you hear a thud somewhere under and near the stick shift. Went to muffle shop and they warmed the muffler and bent it some but it still happens. They suspected bad tranny mounts but they are good and so are the engine ones. It seems it improved some after he bent it, any ideas as of what it is if not this or how to solve it? Another separate simple question, when I remove the MAF from the air box is there anything weird details like needing a new seal afterward etc. Will I gain or loose any power from using a cone filter and has it been known to damage the MAF?
  14. What bulbs do the analog gauges on a 87 GL Wagon use and how hard is it to change? Same question for the license plate looking to go to LEDs
  15. Can I re'rout the parking light wiring to a set of driving lights without overloading the fuse, switch etc... I want to use the parking light switch for new lights... or should i just re wire new sitches... ewww lol
  16. How did you put those clear lights were the turn signals go?
  17. ROFL at least he didnt say duct tape :-\ Perhaps if this was a Honda forum he would have  ra ra ra ricearoniiiii:banana:
  18. Is it easier to mount them on the bumper or on the grille?
  19. Wont the screws tear the plastic under the weight and movement of the lights?
  20. Newb question here: How do I mount some of those round or square driving lights onto my stock bumper like I see on some of your guys rides? Car is a 87' gl wagon.
  21. This just happened to me it went away after replacing the master cyl. and the rear pistons. Since I did both im not sure which one it was but start with that If no fluid loss is evident at the wheels but you are losing fluid from the res I would suspect the rear . If no fluid is lost at all over time from the res then I think the master cyl. is to blame.
  22. I can tell you you need allot. Did this to an Old jetta and will never do it again. better off doing the Roll on Rustoleum thing
  23. CLEAN the battery terminals would be were id start and recharge it If not try running a wire from the alternator lead to the positive on the battery (just a hunch)
