  1. yes, I have a much easier fix and it has been fine for over a year (the pic is recent) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=95519
  2. +1 shoot the line from the engine side so it drains back to the transmission end, (let it run off in the snow) and dry while your switching the leaky one out
  3. awesome, bet that's it - good one
  4. is it sucking air through a leak in the line?
  5. I saw a pic on the web, some dealership had done one for a parts chaser... it was pretty heinous looking... maybe it was the black and yellow clown stripes that threw me
  6. No, while it's out of the car, it's a great time to change the timing belts and check or replace the idler pulleys. it's time for this engine to have it's oil pump pulled (front of engine behind filter behind timing belt) and new o rings put in too the o-ring kit is $35, the belts, what? $45 without the idlers I'd do the water pump and change the valve cover gaskets too, just for gp if it stops raining long enough I'll warm the engine and do a compression check, I'm not looking to make a killer profit - I think the bbs would beat me up if I was a *&^%head this is helping me out too, it gets me off my @$$ and ends the talk and begins the work of swapping in my rig - after all, if my engine is gone, I just HAVE to put something back in don't I? I'll send you a PM with some background on the car
  7. I was getting ready to pull mine out, it's a 1990 SPFI 1.8 with 215K on it. It needs a 'nose job', but it has no major issues... shoot me a PM and we can see if it will work for you. I could possibly put it in my Jeep's cargo area and bring it to you - if you could pay ga$ co$t.
  8. hell, buy mine and do a 'nose job' on it while it's out, its a spfi 1.8, is yours fuel injected or carbbed?
  9. How big is the bank? most swappers go with an EJ series engine swap wikipedia has a good section on suubie engines if you google 'ej 22' it'll lead you there I'd think stock ea82 engines would be pretty plentiful in the usmb classifieds too
  10. there is NOTHING here, I'd have to drive to Spokane in my jeep and get it, where in portland are there 'tons of them'?
  11. That's out of my expertise, sorry. But it does look great and used ea82 engines are very inexpensive. If you're not under pressure to use it right away, why don't you amuse yourself and put in a more powerful engine than stock?
  12. you really think they would have one? I'd drive up next weekend to get one and a dif that matches...
  13. I think they do, look at the door pillar
  14. I know when I transport camels I have had to add a block to the rear springs, upgrade the brakes and use a pressure washer to clean the interior... the thing I really hate is when they spit on the inside of the windshield as I'm driving
  15. If you were closer I'd help just to help out
  16. Found a dr 5 spd in a junkyard, but they want $450 for it... seems a little high to me, what do other people think it's worth?
  17. broken motor mount?
  18. where in the (*&^ do you guys keep finding this stuff? )(*&^ %$##%* ()9 !!
  19. I have a Loyale and was going to say 'what else is new'
  20. I think you did a very good job, it looks very straight and the panels fit well. When can you do mine? :-p
  21. no something in my back yard, so to speak
  22. so really, in effect putting the Loyale RS body on the AWD EVERYTHING... (plus ecu) but, should I get an ea lift kit or ej? seems like I need the kit that fits the car (EA) - but then I have the ej stuff to connect to the kit... (?) but... to further confuse myself, if it was a straight ahead ea lift I'd be replacing my ea struts with ea struts (time to change them anyway) but now what if I want to use the Legacy struts? do they have more travel? would I end up using a shorter strut block to allow for the longer Legacy struts? for example a 4" kit with 2" tower blocks? my brain hurts...
