  1. Im just throwin this out there. Teflon is for air. It might get you by for awhile on fuel lines tho it wouldnt be a permanent fix.
  2. Just curious if your subaru made it back home yet
  3. Questions asked:-) This guy seems like he gets a little irritated with all the questions i ask. Ofcourse i have only asked about 7 million. Ive done a ton of research and price checkin and what not. Someone said something about an sti swap:grin: i dont know about that but if anyone has any idea on how to "hop" the horse power up on this gem, id be interested in reading that. Anyway, to everyone thats read and replied, thanks a bunch.
  4. The car has been sitting for several years. >The car hasn't been started for several years. >The car developed a fuel leak on the engine.*** A Subaru dealer/repair told me over the phone was probably "accelerator pump" but may need carb replacement. >Moon roof doesn't leak to my knowledge. >Body and interior both need work; headliner is very good, seats need repair; this is a "rebuidable" and "restorable" classic. >Being sold "as is". >I have title and car is "blacktagged" and current. Newest email from the fellow with glf. Im gonna ask about price next. The car is atleast an hour and a half from me. Anything else i should be askin about?
  5. Ha! I dont think i could hold out that long. I know where a good lookin mid 80's brat sits. Hasnt been tagged since 06. Belongs to the janitor at my old highschool. Ive tried to get into it from when i was a freshman. Ive been out of school for 12 years.( im a youngster) Hopefully i cant get into this glf in less than 10:grin:
  6. Well things got difficult for awhile. Guy still has the car but once again is slackin on a definate answer. Refresher... car is an 82 glf 1.8 5 speed. Guy says it doesnt run. Needs a carb rebuild. He says exterior and interior (obvious) need work. Good glass, new tires, clean and clear title, current black tag. Anyway here are some pics I would love to get this on the road.
  7. Just wondering because rockauto has shoes for fwd drive for .52 cents. It is 12.47 for shipping but 12.99 is still really cheap for brake shoes.
  8. Anyone know the difference between brake shoes on fwd and 4wd loyales?
  9. Hey Miles just curious if you could show a pic of that idle air control valve.
  10. Forester sold. What do you guys think of this one? http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/3020007445.html
  11. http://joplin.craigslist.org/ctd/3003724895.html http://joplin.craigslist.org/cto/3011666832.html I am thinking about buyin a new to me subaru and wanted to get some opinions from you guys on here. I found two im gonna post on here. Let me know what you think.
  12. Does the different material only happen on that model year?
  13. Sorry bout the wrong forum..... Thanks for the tips.
  14. Alright so im thinking about buying an outback anywhere from late 90's to mid 00's. Just wondering if anyone had some suggestions or "things to look for or want" in the legacy outback.
  15. According to wikipedia a first gen legacy weighs 3220. A loyale weighs 2300 lbs. Curb weight. Just throwin that out there.
  16. Dang i really wanted the extra power in my lighter loyale:(
  17. Just curious if anyone else has noticed the ridges in the brake drums on an ea82 car.
  18. Just went off today after work. I checked fluid level. I checked the float inside. I checked the rubber thing under the cap. Everything was normal. I guess the float may have been sticking and for some reason let loose today.
  19. Hopefully someone knows more about this than i. The brake light in the dash of my 91 loyale has been on for about 3 days. I checked the fluid level. Its good. None of the lines are leaking. Pedal travel seems good. I do hear a little bit of a grinding noise in the back passenger side. Im thinkin maybe the booster is goin out. Any ideas?
  20. So from what your saying its pointless to do an ej swap in an ea82 car. The way i understand it the 3 speed wont handle a 2.2(for long) Im not askin this cause i doubt your knowledge. Im only askin cause i have a 91 loyale that desperately wants more power with a 5 speed d/r behind it. Id really hate to crush the ole girls dreams:(
  21. Well its been over 2 months since the emails started. Got a price of five hundred on th 82 glf. Im gonna have aboit a two hour drive to the car, but my opinion well worth it:banana: Now it all comes down to the "ok" from the wife
  22. My wife said of i were to give her an old subaru she would punch me. Then agaon she wont drive my beast one block to the grocery store Looks good tho. I would have had to keep that for me
  23. Welp i noticed the intake gasket on my 91 loyale is leaking. I was wondering what brand gasket everyone would recommend replacing with. Im looking at this gasket set http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Subaru-Stone-Engine-Block-Gasket-Set-1985-1991-/260941239186?fits=Year:1991|Model:Loyale|Make:Subaru&hash=item3cc14f5392&item=260941239186&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
  24. Still no emails. Is it bad when you can find upgrade parts before the guy even decides to sell
