  1. Im really curious to hear where this project ended up...
  2. Ok im gonna start workin on this list of parts. Anyone think of anything else? Oh and if someone happens to be selling any of these items feel free to pm me
  3. 135 sounds pretty good cimpared to my 90! I have a few picked out. Even found a cheap dohc 2.5 from a 96 legacy, but i need to do a little more research on that swap. Thanks for all the great info and suggestions tho.
  4. Thats what im looking for. Power and torque. Which is better of an engine? Ej18 or ej22? I know the ej22 is gonna be "bigger" but which is more durable. Ive put a heck of a beating on the ea82!
  5. So the ej motor with an ea trans sounds easiest. Question is how hard is it to put in the clutch peda and the different console?
  6. You should see mine. I bought it almost 7 years ago in moline, il. Im sure i dont need to say anymore.
  7. As far as swappin in the ej. How hard is it to put in the mt? Also am i correct on needing an xt and a legacy?
  8. I think the head is taking a crap on me. Either that or the intake gasket. I put new intake gaskets on about 3 months ago and i noticed yesterday that there was some antifreeze around the intake. I snugged those bolts down. I pulled the hose off the driverside head and noticed it was full of what looked like oily milk. Im pretty sure that stuff came from water being in the head.
  9. Ok so ive been reading a bunch of poat the last couple days. Seems like two cars are needed for and ej swap. Sounds like everythink i read leads to a mt trans swap as well. Im starting to think im gonna be better off just rebuilding the 1.8.
  10. Merry Christmas everyone. Its after midnight here in oklahoma. I hear ya on the eating myself to death but all i can think about is pouring money into the subar u once make up for the wifes christmas shopping!
  11. Ok i just read numbchux write up on the ea to ej swap. The way i read it, it sounds like im gonna have some parts off a couple different cars. If i use ej motor and trans will i have to use different spindles. Since the ea is splined differently. Also cross members. Can i just use the cross memebers off the ej car?
  12. Ok im gonna go do some research on this manual trans.
  13. I dont have to have an auto. Just prefer it. If i do an ej with a 4eat do i need a shorter drrive shaft. I also have sixlugs
  14. I knew keeping the 3at was gonna be a bad idea. Id hate to get rid of it cause its only got about 20000 on a rebuild. id love more power tho. i remember someone somewhere said the 3at couldnt handle more power. so if i did the swap keeping it wouldnt be a good idea. So what would be the suggestions on the ej and trans?
  15. Alright i have a 91 loyale wagon 4x with 235-75-15's. I was thinking about rebuilding the 1.8. I was wonderin what some opinions would be on rebuilding the 1.8 or should i look for an ej to swap in. also if i did the ej swap i see alot of people going to a manual trans. Mine is the 3 speed auto and id kinda like to keep it. Anyway opinions, rebuild vs. Swap?
  16. I saw that i was reading the wrong stuff omce i re-read some things. I was gonna repost under general tech forums in the 80's stuff but didnt want to duplicate(which i did in this thread) Anyway thanks Gary for setting me straight.
  17. Ok from what i gather you have to have all four wheels off the ground to tow. Im looking at an 86 gl automatic 4x4. I was gonna tow it with a dolly but it looks like i should get a trailer. Im towing it 180 miles.

  19. Read those stickies where your thread is posted. Tons of great info.
  20. Didnt figure it would. I was hoping they'd be close enough in year. Is the altima years the same as the maxima years that fit?
  21. Totally agree. I have a 2 inch lift on mine with 235/75/15 withh. drilled hubs. I cut. The front and back of the corners in the front. I had hammer the **** out of the fender well in the back. I cut in front of the back tire all the way to weather strip and hammered it. No rub in the back but the front rubs slightly in the front as i back up at full lock. If i were to do it over id go with a 3 inch or a 225 instead of a 235. For now i dont mind it. Although id love to get a little more power, but hey you can play around with it till you are happy.
