makie sure to flush and clean the gas tank. and if possible, flush all the lines. check the tires for dry rot.thats all that i can think of, but i had to go through a lot more than that on my rx that had been sitting for 6 years, but it didnt have an engine in it when i got it.

sooo, oddcomp, you going to make me one? if you do and manage to finda way to come out to the east coast in mid feb, ill buy you a 24 pack.i really want the whole setup now that ive read the thread. although i think that i should try to get the car inspected before i spend anymore money on upgrades. granted, i think ill have to at least upgrade the turbo before inspection just to get through. my stock turbo is blowing oil everywhere and the inlet hose is dead, all dried out and broke. this whole edis and ms thing should be sweet with what im going for with the rx. hey garner, how goes the brat, i havent heard much about it in a while.

if you do the craftsman trick right, you wont damege the socket. you will need an impact socket and you only need to get it about 1/4" onto the lugnut. any farther on and it will just crack down the side and do you no good. good luck, those are sweet rims.

anyone ever had this happen? my trunk wont stay closed, its almost like there isnt a latch at all. or like somone is pulling hte trunk release while i close it. i cant figure it out. first occurance was when i had the car at the garage to get the tires put on, the tech put my stock wheels in the trunk and then came out to tell me that the trunk wouldnt close. i wiggled the key and it latched. but now nothing is working for me. i dont know where to start on the latch to figure out whats wrong. thanks tim c.

hmmm, very cool. i might try to get a shifter assembly from the junk yard and then have taht one modified. i wonder if the bushings for the rx are anything like the ones for the wrx.

well, i have sarched around and havent seen much to do with shifters.the only thing i found was for the ea81 cars. i am looking for better shifter bushings and possibly a short shifter for the rx. im getting tired of punching my passengers in the knee when i go into 5th. that and the plastic trim peices kepp popping off when i shift. any one have any info on getting ahold of what i need? thanks tim c.

what kinda of problem did you come up with from the cams? i am thinking about getting some.

ive only heard that for when you install a new turbo. when you put in a new turbo, i8t usually doesnt have any oil in it or the lines. this pre lubes it with out causing damage to the turbo.

i read somewhere that the rx sedan weighed somewhere around 2400 or so. ultra light, and its pretty stiff in the corners as well. very noticeably lighter than the impreza. i think that ill be trying to get some better handling outta my rx when i get the chance, granted it handles nicely now. i have a set of coil over springs meant for the impreza, but ill be installing em on the rx after inspection.

its funny, everythimg i drove my impreza to the stealership, a salesman would come up and try to sell me a ford. i hate dealers that sell more than one brand and think i give a rat about ford.

i need the fan and box that contains it for my 86 rx. its kinda cold and foggy in the car without it. that and there isnt anything to hold up the glove box toher than the latch. does anyone have a spare assembly that i might aquire??? or know of someone that does? thanks everyone tim

well, the switch crapped out again. gunna go see if my friend's dad can take a look at it. but the rx is on the road now im happy

try wiggling the hazzard switch and the turn signal lever when you are testing, the wiggle test can help find stuffs.
