Clock Connections
Idea. Someone should take these apart (more tech savy than I) and see if we can change the color of the time... to red, or yellow or something.

Clock Connections
I considered this, since as a GL, it was an option you could get.... I saw a 85 DL with the trip computer, I almost got mad... I was like WTF is mine in my GL haha

Yupp mine are right up front... people are dumb... on my street I can see my blinkers at both sides of the street flashing off houses... in the front and the back (which are tinted by the way)

Clock Connections
Im a bit confused here... my first clock kept shorting out, so it got resoldered, but then didnt turn on... Then a completely different clock got put in, and only works when I push the buttons, the screen turns on but then shuts off when button not pushed... Problem? Solution? Noticed the wiring behind my glovebox has this: Theres 2 red wires, one with a green stripe on it... that doesnt seem to have a spot on the new clocks, or even on my other one... what does the red w/ green stripe do? Could I need a clock specific to an 86 GL?

I got wheels!!!
Search for tires is on... I think you should get 185/70/13... they are easy to find, pretty cheap (around 200 for a new set) and they fill up the wheel well pretty easily

Ea82 dash clock ipod upgrade! Now with pics!!!!
Its been discussed a few times... Stubies_Subie found an LED reader board that he could put there. But if I had the spot open and didnt mind resoldering the clock (or having it done) I would put the screen to a back-up camera there...

91 loyale
He answered that one... Are you doing a HG job? Cuz heads dont have to come off to get them out... Unless youre doing this out of the car and it doesnt matter, taking the heads off is just extra...

Rebuilding 1990 1.8l loyale
4100 @ 65!? HTF (How the eff) Im at like 75 @ 3000... Edit: Nevermind, lift and bigger tires huh? Idk, Ive personally seen some very abused EJ18s and EJ22s that just keep taking the abuse... whereas Ive seen an abused EA82T running on 3 cylinders, pushed too hard to get the power and then pegging the temp... Personally, if you want a real NOTICEABLE performance upgrade and reliability upgrade, toss the money out for an EJ swap... you wont regret it and youll definitely get more miles out of it.

Rebuilding 1990 1.8l loyale
Fast/Reliable/Cheap Choose 2... EA82T could be cheap and *semi* fast but not very reliable (terrible motor, cooling issues, bad design, search EA82T) EJ22 is fast and way more reliable than the EA82T (115vs135 horsepower roughly and bulletproof) Reliable and cheap... EA81 swap it

Rebuilding 1990 1.8l loyale
Why rebuild that one? Youll probably spend just as much rebuilding it as you could to EJ22 swap it... and the EJ22 is N/A and non-interference +20 horsepower.... Just curious

91 loyale
If youve got ticking lifters, replace the mickey mouse gasket and o-ring on the oil pump... or if the oil pump is really old, try to replace the whole thing.
-
91 loyale
They arent difficult. Obviously gotta remove some stuff. Timing belts, valve covers and cam towers need to come off too. Get some assembly lube to put them back on... itll hold them in place so you dont drop them... If youre rebuilding them it doesnt matter much, but if you are just removing them... make sure to know which slot they came from

Adhesive remover
What do you guys use for adhesive remover? Safe on paint would be a huge bonus. Had the wise idea to duct tape my trunk closed while latch was busted, but theres still adhesive and I dont want to repaint the car just yet, so Id like to avoid it.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
After a rock took out my right blinker, I got a new lens, took both off and cleaned them up... MUCH BETTER! (left one looks dim because I was at a weird angle, they are both as clear as day now. Also, trunk latch got bent from sister trying to close trunk while lever in the car was in the unlocked/opened position... So got a new one... completely straight, and now trunk closes perfectly... No duct tape needed Also done: New stereo installed Clock resoldered (being put in tonight, thanks Stubies_Subie) Still to do: Oil change New wheels/tires Painted corner markers

Clutch Kit Comparisons
They are stupid sometimes... Brakes for a 92 Loyale dont fit my 86 GL yet its the same thing. If the part number is what GD recommends, do it. We put a 225mm clutch for EA82 on my EA71 (with EA81 swapped in) with no issues, in GDs shop... he knows his stuff

Muffler questions?
Not for me either, but I didnt wanna get in trouble by saying DO IT
