  1. Lucky on the state part too In Oregon I have to have a front and rear plate with valid tags on both... so I couldnt run one of those plates unless I did it in the front glass or next to my other plate. But then again... If I got on in Japanese NED 108... then my plates would match the same letters/numbers? I want one stupid Oregon. Your LC is lookin good Tom! Id take those over a 4Runner!
  2. Welcome aboard! Youll find lots of useful information, and some nice XT's out there Come to WCSS as mentioned :-p show off your XT and see some of the nice ones built by members (as well as many other Subarus for you to drool over) Pics
  3. a stock 2004 WRX is turbo'd - the TD04... but we need to get back on the weber topic
  4. What might this be....
  5. Doubt it, down pipe is where the turbo and headers meet isnt it? You dont have a turbo... Id just get new exhaust from the y-pipe back to a decent muffler and itll sound better.. Back on topic... Go with the weber, you WONT regret it... itll pay for itself in sheer smiles on your face when you open the secondaries. Ive been driving cars w/ webers for 2 years now, 3 vehicles and have loved the feel of each of them!
  6. Depends on your exhaust for sure... The weber on my 84 GL sounded good up front with the secondaries open but the exhaust sucked... same story on my 84 DL... Now my 86 GL NED sounds sooo amazing but I cheated haha... (2.5" glasspack)
  7. I think most people go with the exedy xt6 clutch.... But then there was a thread about it being hard to find... its in the retrofitting section... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=132719
  8. NED had lifter tick... even after a resealed oil pump... So GD had me remove the lifters and he sent them in to Mizpah to be rebuilt. Then we put a new gasket on a low mileage oil pump (or new I dont recall) and the lifter tick went away. Its come back a few times when I forget to check the oil, but as soon as I hear it I top it off on the dipstick and the tick goes away.
  9. I see it better now. I dont have any torn apart EA82s so I cant see that port... but on yours it looks like it belongs there... so I doubt its a defect.
  10. I sold a set with good tires for $600 It wasnt easy, but they look good. As for ruining them, if he likes this color on the car, he will probably get a professional powdercoat later on, the silver is just really dull... Gunmetal will be the preferred color if they get powdercoated.
  11. Different oil pumps? that hole looks broken to me, doesnt look like a clean hole machined to be there.... Heres a picture of a pump like mine, no hole (too lazy to upload mine, sorry)
  12. Looks broken to me and when I look at an old oil pump here, I dont have that... Best to replace the mickey mouse gasket and the oil pump... will probably stop the TOD... Could be the cause of the air bubbles as well, someone else would have to chime in there
  13. Got another set for ya! Head hurts from so much painting today... My friends 2001 Legacy GT got de-rimmed today for some painted snowflakes... took several hours as we sanded each wheel, coat of primer, 2 coats paint, 2 coats clear coat... came out really nice Sittin on the floor: Up at the store for photo op...
  14. Send the pictures to your email?
  15. Not that I know of, there is an "insert image" button... its yellow, has 2 mountains and a sun... kinda small.... But idk if you can use it yet (being a new poster and all)
  16. Use a hosting site like photobucket... copy the IMG code from photobucket or the host site and past it in the new bulletin...
  17. Needed the money :/ but Ill get new wheels sooner rather than later
  18. While waiting on some items for newer mods... I painted my grill black... Minus subaru emblem... but I kinda like it that way... looks clean.... it may get the Subaru emblem if I find a REALLY nice one for it...
  19. Painted the grill on NED in my build thread (its a work in progress thread actually) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=133162 Heres KiKi and NED together with their painted grills
  20. If you wont buy or recommend a Subaru to anyone again, sell them super cheap to someone who can fix them and move on. Hopefully they get picked up by a Subaru person who knows exactly how to fix them and make them last... Ive seen 460k on an 85 DL, 212K on an 84 GL, 202k on an 84 DL, 92 Loyale with 246K and my current car has 180K. Several members have seen over 300K on Legacy models etc. These are great cars... sure there are bound to be design flaws, but thats no reason to never recommend a Subaru or buy one. Its also a "he-said, they-said" situation... I have seen people in 2011 STi's get told to take it easy the first 5000 miles on the car so everything gets broken in smoothly.... first thing they do off the lot is bounce it off the rev limiter... so you say never driven over 70 miles per hour and maintained, they probably think you abused it and thats why they dont want to help you. You probably wont win in that situation... If I were you, Id have the work done privately, and forget the dealer and the warranty... or sell it if you dont wanna do that.
  21. Things done to my dads 90 Legacy: Tab found @ JY so headlight can be aimed correctly. Corner marker fixed (yet another tab broken) Grill... sanded and painted... wonder if a Subaru I badge will fit where the logo is, cuz its worn out and looks bad Its the simple things... I have plans for NED coming up, and cant leave "KiKi" un-touched...
  22. Lookin good Jeszek! Ive thought of the twin fan idea in NED, Im just not sure I wanna do the wiring haha.. I do like Stubies_Subie's Loyale though... reads like 1/3 up the gauge MAX (hes got the dual fans) Ive always worried that it could get TOO COOL, like the engine cant reach its operating temperature correctly?
  23. Hey now, dont give me ideas... I need to upgrade the soundproofing, but I have other priorities before WCSS
  24. I believe Im running rich, I can watch gas drip out of my exhaust at idle every couple seconds. Ask GeneralDisorder about the Jets on NED he installed the weber and tuned it when he owned the car
