  1. Did they have any decent-looking radiators?
  2. Baldwin is another good brand to run, if you can find them.
  3. I just finished swapping in a new clutch cable (a royal pain for a dude built like me) and I've used search a couple times for adjustment info, but with no real concrete results. Can anyone help me out with some information (or a link to another thread that I have overlooked)? I have a crappy Chilton...but it is 20-some miles away, unfortunately. EDIT: Nevermind, dinked around with it long enough to make it work.
  4. I have pulled Ford FE and 385-series (460ci) motors using 2x6 garage trusses numerous times. Used two, with a chunk of 6x6 screwed/hangered on both ends in between the two. Should work just fine.
  5. I don't even want to entertain the thought. I have to drive my old '67 Ford F250 down to Clatskanie, OR tomorrow...at 55mph the whole way and sweating profusely.
  6. Burn a bunch of arc-sticks (or mig wire) into the spider gears.
  7. It is still 100 here at the north end of Centralia. Unfortunately, I haven't had my Soob out since I'm waiting on a new clutch cable.
  8. Thank you! I bookmarked all three of those.
  9. Where is a good place online to order OEM Subaru parts? I don't have a dealership anywhere too close and need a few things, like a clutch cable and a thermostat.
  10. I might be up for hanging out next weekend, I'll know by Wednesday if I'll be working or not. Hopefully, I can get the clutch issues with my Soob figured out by then!
  11. I am very interested in going the same route. Hopefully there isn't much difference between your '86 Brat and my '87 GL 3dr as far as this is concerned.
  12. I also would have immediately bailed at the point of 1% higher interest.
  13. I'm afraid I have absolutely nothing technical to add, but welcome to the board!
  14. Pardon my small thread hijack, but what is the difference between R12 and R12A?
  15. Sounds good!
  16. Nice wheelset! I'm currently scouring CR looking for something very similar.
  17. R12 is FAR superior to that R134a crap.
  18. I'll investigate tomorrow and post my findings.
  19. Welcome to the board! Good to see more SW WA guys on here!
  20. The warning light was not on, nor has it ever come on unfortunately. I tore into the car yesterday and found part of the problem. The threads in the block for the bolt that holds the tensioner down badly stripped out. So I tapped it to 3/8-16 and tightened it down. Still have to excite the alt by revving it up, but it holds tight at 14.5V.
  21. Figures. Guess I'll hit the junk yard and look for a GM alt then, although I won't turn down a late-80s Maxima either.
