multimeter
I use a Greenlee that I found at Lowe's. Costs about $50 and works like a champ. Real accurate too, and it's digital (the only way to go).

the copy-a-zap impreza...
Looks AWESOME dude!! Spray gold rules! How'd the finish turn out? I need to drop by and come check it out sometime. I'd also like to give you that sub box in trade for maybe some of your welding skills. Let me know when you're free .

'91 - '92 Loyale tire question
edit - oops, double post

'91 - '92 Loyale tire question
I run 185/70/14s on my Pug alloys and only get rubbing on the rear when fully loaded and hitting a big bump. With steels, it wouldn't be a problem.

grounding...
This is a bit late in the thread, but I upgraded the grounding system on my Subaru with a 1/0GA cable from the battery to the chassis and 8GA cables from the alt bracket, transmission, both heads, and the lighting relay pack I added all to ground. Seems to run a touch smoother, and it certainly can't hurt.

Dont B**ch. Just Weld It.
Okay.

Weird power window problem
Glad it's working out for you. You'll have to bring it to a Subaru meet sometime so I can see it again. I kinda miss it :-\ ...

Weird power window problem
Is that my old '92 you're talking about? How's that old goat working? I'd just get a new switch, that thing was always a bit dodgy.

Small World
That's something that I really love about this board - that I've had the opportunity to meet people from it. Off the top of my head, I've met about 10 people, all of whom are an inspiration for me to build my rig. This board kicks rump roast like no other board I've ever been on.

West Coast Subaru Show 7 Thread (real deal)
95% chance of me being there. The only thing that could hold it up is if there's another show going on (gotta do my job, sadly) or if the Subaru breaks down.

Wagon wisdom. Buying advice.
EA82 is the way to go. I've got a '93 Loyale and I'm in love with it.

TMIC+Warm weather+Autox=BAD
I wonder if, since you're using the car for auto-x, a water-to-air intercooler might work well. It won't be great for long runs, but they're very effective for short lengths of time. Probably more spendy than the FMIC you're talking about, though.

The OBS, taller with a Forester mod
That looks way too cool!

hey everyone question for you
My Soob isn't anything super-special, but you're welcome to any of the pics in my photo gallery - http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=275 , just so long as they're only for personal use and not for any sort of profitable venture.

Look at these wheels and give me some feedback
All Pugs are like that. They're a direct fit as far as bolt pattern goes, but they have a lower offset than stock Soobie wheels. As long as you keep your overall diameter close to stock, they won't pose a problem. I run 185/70/14 on my Pugs and they only rub on the rears when completely, fully loaded, and I hit a BIG bump. You'll be just fine.

Cooling issue
Sure sounds like a radiator problem to me. EA82s are pretty notorious for having really crappy radiators. If you replace it, get one for a turbo model, they're dual-core and much beefier.

Yakima rack on a loyale
No problems with mine, it's on there like a mofo. What feels like it's binding?

EA82Ts with custom MAF adapter, where did you get?
The MAF adaptor is off of a 1991-1999 Nissan Sentra/200SX 1.6L, engine code GA16DE.

power to the lights on roof?
Mine goes through where the antenna used to be. I riveted on an aluminum plate to cover most of the hole, then drilled a hole into it and ran the wires through there. Before that, I went through the corner of the windshield seal.

what is this G-BOX? on ebay...
That is a very overpriced Radio Shack resistor that does nothing but screw with your A/F ratio. It's a bunch of bullsh*t that it adds any kind of real power. And no, since it requires a MAF/MAP sensor to work, it won't work on a carbed car, not that it would do much of anything on a FI car either...

Yay, another wheel bearing question!
Thanks guys!
