  1. ive got the FSM and service booklet for the CC.
  2. replace the wheel cyl...or atleast get it out so you can properly get the thing out.
  3. Ive onyl seen ONE RX with cruise control...and that was one here for sale. Out of the 3 RX's ive had, NONE had it.
  4. I know I should be the all mighty and know the answer to this...but im lazy this time. My 87 RX. I want cruise control. What do i need? Brainbox and pedal unit. What else?
  5. should be main fuel cluster. The cover should have the diagram of where it is.
  6. Oh...duh, the TIming belt covers are 10MM. PITA to get off is they were over tightened.
  7. Should be a std phillips head...they are not really standard on sizing tho. Once the spare tire it out of the way, its easy to get to.
  8. was it a sudden loss in power and then nothing? that indicated timing belt on drivers side. what kind of timing belts were used?
  9. Thats why I asked about the tack/oil pres....if the drivers side breaks, the dizz no turn and no more oil pres. The 88 RX i had did that....and the 89. The 87 will NOT follow its brothers! :-p
  10. Im going to use clutch net's stuff. Its there and avalible, and i like what I see.
  11. Check the fuses first. Did the tack and oil pres die with the engine die'ing?
  12. 5th post in a row...LOL I think im going with the 3 or 4 puck, and maybe a presure plate next time I have the RX apart for something like that.
  13. They dont. I asked them what it would take to get one made....id need to send them a core and they would see what they could do with it... I asked what an Impreza flywheel costs...he said for the 2.5's its about $325, and they weigh in at about 10~11 lbs. Hmmmmm........
  14. I notice they have flywheels....im on the phone with them now to see if they've got one for the EA82's...
  15. http://www.clutchnet.com/make/subaru.html
  16. No BFH action....next time I take the IC off, I'll pic it. Scoop...look up some pics of my wagon, im using that hood...and its still blue/decaled right now.
  17. Oh, damn....looks like you got the Gen2 pipes that will clear the stock PS lines. I hate you.
  18. XT6 and RX (all 4WD/Turbo for that matter for EA82) is pretty much the same stuff. The flywheel weights differ some...but the XT6 is the lighest one. DO NOT WASTE TIME on the XT6 clutch set. It will slip at 14+ PSI on a well setup car....that and it was slipping MASSIVELY on my wagon at 12 (large TB, spyder intake, TWE pipes, custom fuel system, WRX TMIC...etc...) Any flywheel will do as long as its a 4WD one, just send it to skip and he can lighten it up considerably. I have one of those....I also have one in the RX that was done by a local shop...its about 18 lbs....the skip one I tihnk it 16 lbs IIRC.
  19. Its as close to buy it and plug&play as you are going to get...the price is an estimated budget that I would allow myself to do a complete MS+DIS conversion....but I think I would get all new DIS stuff, so that figure might be $600 for me... :-\
  20. What do you mean? Im not dis'in the Kev... I know its pretty well indecructable, but you need mroe clamping force to get the same holding power as a stock clutch with the same clamping force. For example...the Kev vs stock in Shane's (Warp3) RS with the same pres plate (stock) on both...the stock clutch will hold higher HP's when hot. The Kev one will start slipping when hot (2 drivers at an autox), and the hotter it gets, the more it slips. Add more pres to it, and the problem goes away. Im sure it would be fine at stock engine output levels...but the RS has got about 200 HP's and a little more than that in TQ (cams, exhaust). But then again, Pleiades had it in his Legacy...and its stock pretty much, and he still had slipping issues at some points. EIther way, im going to get it if I can and get a higher pres. pres plate.
