  1. Anyone Know where the coolant temp sensor is? I have been told mine is prolly bad and I have the chance to get one from a jy but I am not sure where it is on the EA82 Any help in the next ten minutes would be swell
  2. I never ripped my off. It was held on by zip strips. I have had to change it in the mud before so having it under hood would have been nice.
  3. Miles, DId not need an adapter. I found the hex screw and used an allen wrench to remove the plug. I screwed the sender into there and tightened it down. NO problems. I left the idoit light sender there. I could hook it up as well if I wanted to be ghetto
  4. Dumb question but did you remove the cotter pin that hold the nut from spnning?
  5. Where can I get a solenoid? The valve was not too much. I get employee cost on NAPA parts
  6. First before anyone smacks me up side the head for posting yet again. I am sorry for so many previous posts on so many issues that could have been summed up in one post. Please disreguard previous posts. Allow me to sum up for those who were helping me and a million thanks on suggetions. First, the tempature problem seems to indeed have been a sticky tstat. I put a 180 from NAPA in it and it seems to be fine now. Second the whole car won't start bit. It turned out to be a danged fuse after all. As for the car idling ruff, the computer says I need a new EGR valve so I ordered one. I did what you guys said and put the oil sender in the hole that was there and it worked great. Thanks. So for anyone who was upset at mutliple posts, forgive me. And for anyone who helped me. Many many thanks. And to Trogdor, don't sweat the small stuff, I like the car. Now then, on to a lift and tires!
  7. So I fixed the exhuast leak and put a 180 tstat in it today and got it inspected. I changed out the dash so the speedo works. I fired it right up and drove out of the parking lot. Grabbed second gear and the engine cut out. Almost like a timing belt. I coast to the side of the road about 100 ft from the garage I was at. Pop the hood and both tbelts are there. I walk up to the garage and they give me a tow back up there. No spark. Replace the distributor still nothing. Then I notice when I turn the key none of the lights flick on like they should (check engine, oil, etc..). I checked all the fuses and fusable links. Nothing. What the heck happened? ANd how can I get it running again?
  8. I wish I coulda got pix of me jumping the awesome table top bridge out here. Going up on was no big deal maybe a foot or so, but coming off the other side a 65 was about a 6ft drop. I bottomed out even with a lift.
  9. Hey! Another person from PA who also serves our country! Many thanks. And I am all for Pine barrens or whatever. Look me up sometime.
  10. My old DL was the same way. I thought nothing of it until I got this loyale. It goes just fine. I drove it 300 miles at about 80 the whole way. Never had to shift outta 5thon the mountains either. My old dl eventually blew a head and never ran again. So I think I had something wrong.
  11. The new Loyale is spiking up to hot and then going back down and running normal. It spikes after about 5 minutes of driving, but then comes back down. Also, it starts hard, and I can smell gas. It seems to idle a bit rough too. Are these all connected? Is it some kind of bad sensor? I don't know these things and some of you guys are suby genuises. Let me know.
  12. Hey thanks. I have one that I left outside so it is ruined now
  13. Ok. Shoudl I be able to get a guage the same size as the idiot light? I really don't want to mess anything up but I want the guage to work. P.S. we don't have an auto zone. We have an advanced and a napa.
  14. So I can leave the idiot light plug in and there should be a different spot on the oil pump for the guage? Can anyone post a picture of that?
  15. OK, I got some things that need worked out on this new car. It has an oil pressure guage but the engine came from a car with an idiot light. How do I make it so the guage will work again? I bought a sending unit, but they are different sizes. The guage sending unit is huge and the idiot light is pretty small. The check engine light is always on because this car used to be an automatic and now it's a 5 spd d/r. Is there a way to trick the computer into thinking that the auto is still there and fine? Has anyone ever rewired the dash on one of these? I have the guage cluster from a 5 spd but the connectors are different. Also, how can I hook up the 5spd d/r to show up on the dash? That oughta get me started for now.
  16. I have already put the XT seats in. They are much more comfortable then the loyal seats. The moving up and down option makes all the difference in the world. BTW Trogdor... I found the bolts for the back seat. They were under the seat belts trim so I got them put back in. Now I just need a grey back seat and some new wheels. And we should be ready to get muddy.
  17. After driving down to West Virginia with no misshaps, just 3 hours later then planned. We got to Steves to pick up the new roo. I watch him change the timing belts (hard to get two sets of hands in there). We trippled up the exhuast gasket on the driver side where the bolt is stripped to make it quiet enuff to drive home. Had coolant problems at first, but once on the road it did fine. My wife and I spent the nite at a hotel once we made it back into PA. Made the rest of trip home no problem. The shift was loose so we hit a walmart and I picked up a shifter and pedal combo. Looks very nice. I still gotta detail the car so I apologize for the mess. :-p I got a chance to install these items while Shelli fed the baby at a rest stop. Only mishap that I just found was a hub broke on the way home. You can see it in the picture.
  18. Hey Miles! Thanks for the note. I did have to top it off a couple times, but it ran cool all the way home. Stopped at adavanced when I got into town and grabbed a oil pressure sending unit so the guage will work right. ANyhow, I fired it up and it ran up to hot again... about a mile down the road and it went back down to normal. What's up with that? Seemed odd.
  19. Quick update. Shelli and I made it to a hotel in PA and the cooling problem has not resurfaced. Is it possible that it just needed to be run a bit?
  20. Thanks John for the info. I really think I may try to find someplace to do the welding for me. I hate to think I might screw it up. This is going to be my "pretty" car so it has to be done right, and look good.
  21. Does this company make stuff for NA cars? I would love a bigger exhaust from engine to tail pipe
  22. MMMMmmm..... Sleepers. I love the thought of rolling up beside some lamer, and then smoke him.
  23. I had one with and one without. I should kept the LSD coz now I can't find one.
  24. would you weld these in or rivet them? and is any one near me to do a weld job for cheap
