I liked the way my EA82 handled after the lift. It didn't feel too tippy or anything like that, plus I felt taller and thus in my mind a lil safer running near trucks.

I have repair questions on my new GL-10
Tin Soldier replied to Tin Soldier's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the smell does go away after a few minutes. I drove it to work one day and I made a stop. When I started it, it didn't smoke, but when it sat overnite it smoked when I started it. -

That's crappy. I drove it home from new york city without a problem. Didn't notice any power problems or anything. -
would anyone buy rebuilt EA81 or EA82s?
Tin Soldier replied to Ratty2Austin's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I think I could use a rebuild. I have a 180k spfi that is smoking oil smoke. Sad thing is a I just had the timing belts changed not to long ago. I think I hurt something putting a heilcoil in the spark plug socket. -
Should I get another sube??

Hey hey I have computer and want another car. I will work a deal for it - -
Ok most of you know that I got an 88 gl-10 wagon from new york not long ago. I have since gutted the interior to see how bad the rust was in the floors. Well the rear strut towers are gone. How can I rebuild/reweld those? Will any be at the 9/13 meet that can weld or help with those? Second when it first gets started after sitting it smokes and the smoke smells like anitfreeze. What would cause that and how can I fix it? Next can you buy replacement panels for the rear of wagons? I have seen them for other type of cars and just wondered. I want to restore this car to it's original glory.

I painted my '87 GL-10 auto with white spray cans of rustoleum that were buy one get one a walmart and had 35% more in the can. Did it in 4 cans total cost under 10$ It was a 10/10 paint job 10ft/10mph better then my first attempt on a buick that was a 50/50 -
Ok, one of my clients is an auto mechanic and just happened to have the heilcoil to fit my dl and the tools to do it. Took me little less then an hour (I was being very careful). The plug is in the car fired right up and ran like it's old dog self. 180K rolling strong. Tell me about this gapping of plugs and setting timing advance, cause I think mine is all screwed up. - cost of heilcoil $0 (when you know someone who has em) - cost of tools to put in heilcoil $0 - healing skinned knuckles $2 for triple antibiotic ointment - Subaru with 3inch lift and 180K kept on the road - PRICELESS

so for all you who were rooting for me I got the new sube from new york and drove it home. Here some new you know you're addicted to subarus when: you drive a beat up Toyato Corolla leaking gas 420 miles one way to get a subaru you've never seen. you drive above suby 470 miles home (got lost), under it's own power. You know your wife is getting addicted when: she goes with you both ways she says, lets trade my Toyota in on a 80's suby. Ok so for my question.... anyone ever put heilcoil(spark plug hole fixer) in an ea82?

Moosens, I plan on leaving here at like 7 or 8 in the morning and driving over in a truck. I will tow the car home and have plenty of room for parts Anything you need of my two rust buckets? Maybe we can make a trade. It will good to be back in a subaru again. here's my travel map -

It's the one from ebay. Seemed to be decent and it's what I have wanted since I got my first suby, and since my DL blew a spark plug right out of the engine:banghead: I decided it was time to find one. I won the auction for $380. I estimate it will cost me 100$ in gas to get there and back. Plus title and crap of course. I do not plan to put it on the road right away. I am going to snadblast the whole thing and add frame stiffeners and my lift before I put it on the road. It will be a nice addition to my family. -
