EJ22 1981 Brat Write Up
I remember reading in numbchux write up for the original Ea to Ej swap that a surge tank would have to be added for heavy cornering, and hard acceleration. I think he was talking about a second gen style car though. I imagine it woulntd be hard to do to add a surge tank, or just run a return line back to the tank like this guy did. It'd neat to take the gas tank all the way out and open it up and install baffles but that sounds pretty time consuming. Either way i am excited for the challenge!

EJ22 1981 Brat Write Up
I am resurrecting this thread because i've got the fever for another EJ swap but this time into my 1980 Brat. I keep trying to find good pics of the notch people cut in the frame rails but havent found any. I'm sure it's pretty self explanatory, i just want an idea.

Couple of '80/'81 gls going to scrap
Some pictures would be great, here in Cheyenne a lady i rescued my two brats from just scrapped her other two brats the other day and to add insult to injury she loaded them down with extra carbs, trannys, lights, wheels you name it just to get a couple more bucks. I urged her to put them on craigslist but apparently that was too much work so she just junked em it was heartbreaking. I'm just glad i was able to save mine!

!RESCUED! 1980 Subaru Brat
It became really cold so the BRAT went up on jack stands in the garage. However i just got 2 Jackmans back from the sandblaster and dropped off the other two. I wish these were 14's but will still look good as i am painting them bright white and i have a brand new set of 185/70R13s coopers waiting at the tire store when all of the wheels are done. I'm also still trying to get the engine to start, i ordered a new voltage regulator and a new coil just so i know everything electrical is brand new. I still can't believe how small these things are haha.

Is this a 2ND Gen BRAT rear slider?
The length is also probably a dead giveaway at 53" wide, guess i'll start looking at the rear sliders on some small pickups and see if it 's a match. I'd rather sell it then throw it away.

Is this a 2ND Gen BRAT rear slider?
It measures about 14" wide and about 53" long. I held it up by the back of my 1st Gen and it's not quite right. It was in the back of the parts car, i thought it kind of looked like one from an early S-10 pickup.

Anyone in the Denver area able to look at this for me?
Dang, my wifes aunt and uncle live in NH and they came out for thanksgiving (to Wyoming) and he saw my 80' Brat up on stands in my garage and couldnt believe how solid it was. He said it would sell for big money back east cause all old cars are rotten from rust. Said he NEVER sees brats ever.

Here is the original stock rim that was on my 80' brat which is same under the hood as your car, would you like to buy it? I will dismount the tire and see how much shipping will be to you?

Trying to start for first time after 14 years...
Thanks for all the help everyone, this car was actually originally parked because it was supposed to get a new interior...that's it. I am going to get a new module and give it a shot. I took the distributor apart from the 79' parts car and the insides are completely different and the wires go to a transistor module and not the coil directly.

Loyale Body Molding Clips
Some super duper double sided tape might work really good for reattaching if both sides are really clean, or do what that shady scooner guy talks about and drill and tap the clips...wait didn't you say they were metal? Weird. I've got a couple of leftover clips if you want me to send then to you.
