The elusive hunt for a new EA71 water pump!
So in the midst of getting my brat running I noticed coolant seeping out of the weep hole on the bottom. Well in my naivety I thought i'll just order a new one. Holy crap it has turned into something else! Here is a pic of the one I need. I will post pics of the ones I have and the mystery one.

Hello from Colorado
It's true I had a 99' outback with a full rebuild including head gaskets, timing belt components etc and that car was incredible, and was surprisingly quick. Welcome aboard here as well, where in Colorado do you call home?

!RESCUED! 1980 Subaru Brat
Oh man the parts Brat is so rotten underneath and has a lot of bondo. The gold one is in very solid condition which is nice. What is the advantage of EA81 suspension and also how difficult is it to attach?

Sir Dave! Good to hear from you man! The brat is coming together quite well and I am just waiting for the water pump to come in to test out the weber carb I just put on it. I still don't know about the EJ swap, I might just do an weberized EA81 with a dual range. There would be just a little bit of modifying then if any. The dude that gave me the rollbar is also trading me a badass factory brush guard subaru bumper for the standard bumper on mine. You need a subie bro and fast. What's up with that white 2nd Gen Brat you showed me?

My car won't start.
EJ it. Ha I hate intermittent problems. I'll bet it's the fuel pump, get under there and hit it with something haha. I heard on NPR today about the fantastic blizzard that is going to hit the east coast tonight...that's exciting! Wish I could say it was snowing here in Cheyenne...but it was 65 today with no wind and almost 70 tomorrow. I'll take it.

Look what I was fortunate enough to bring home! I had to go to Rawlins today for work and I promised the PO of my BRAT I would bring him his cd player and cd changer back to him out of the BRAT so he said, "well, mine as well take this rollbar back with you." I couldn't believe it! Luccccky.- lifted loyal help
Damn that thing is a beast! I thought they started the loyale name in 1990 though?- dual range donor cars?
I just picked up an 88' GL wagon to basically take the dual range 5 speed to use in my brat, I might put an EJ22 in it but then again I might just get an EA81 with a weber carb. The 81 would be a lot easier to put in there and there wouldn't be any ECU or wiring issues.- my little brat
Lookin good, I started on my weber carb install this weekend but I was sent an EA81 water pump and I didn't want to start it without that. Just have to be patient. Can't wait to see more of your BRAT!- EJ swap who's who
Toonga, that is a great looking wedge! I really like the way it looks with the lift. Good job!- my lifted subi
Lookin good! How much does that rack weigh?- what i have learned about having a brat so far.

Bulletproof I might have one for you, where do you need it shipped to?- looking for a air cleaner for 79 brat
Wow! Good score!- 1978 Subaru Brat. From death to life and everything in-between
Oh i like that teaser pic! I was just thinking of replacement decals the other day and wondering if a vinyl graphics shop could make some for me. Awesome thread, you inspire me!- looking for a air cleaner for 79 brat
How much is a replacement worth to you? Because i have a setup for you but no idea what it's worth.- Nick's 94 Loyale build

Especially the wiring print that explained where the grey diode goes that has all of the colored lines, that was the missing link on my last swap that i had forgot about!- 12,000 Miles over less than 2 months
Haha sounds sexy.- 12,000 Miles over less than 2 months
Can't wait to see it! Also, more of the GL, what has it been up to since becoming a big movie star? Drugs, women, the usual?- EA71 Intake manifolds
Oh no Loyale, you're thinking of the user swiftt who posted above me i think. My EA71 is a plain ol hitachi carbed deal.- spfi swap questions to button it up
Scuba, what car did you get the spfi off of and what car did you put this on? I brought home a basically free 88' GL Wagon that has a FI ea that i thought could go on my ea71 but from what i read, doesn't seem likely. I am thinking of putting an EA81 with the spfi and dual range 5 speed in the Brat now. Do you have any pics of what you've done? Thanks! - !RESCUED! 1980 Subaru Brat
