I went for fun cruise up Still creek rd(fs rd 2610) to Sherar burn(fs rd 2613) and broke trail for 10miles in a foot plus of powder in places! It was awesome! Then I hiked up to Devil's peak lookout tower(5,045ft) for a hot lunch and brew! I did have to cut out some blowdown to continue ....no problem! I never had to chain up! My Yokohama Geolander At+II's were awesome!

  5. nice shots! I wish I was there in my outback I would kept going...plus I'm lifted so that helps...I especially like the shot of the outback and the other 4x4's there ! Yea, I must admit my auto is great for crawling up stuff vs a manual without lo range...
  6. WEll it was human error....an employee left with an ember still burning and poof! no arson there......!
  7. Got one (Primitive) just need to cut and weld for the header clearance!
  8. You can get some early season fun in the snow but soon after they close the gates!!! ARRGH!!! Although in May they opened and I found some snow and got stuck bigtime ....dug out after three hours of digging a trench .......wet snow ontop of frozen pack ice! I damn near slid completely off the road down a ravine!!Like a ********************* ....I left the chains at home!! The low fuel light came on .......it was raining .....Let's just say I had too much fun there , but it was worth it !!! I'm gettin' a winch!! I was just out testing my new AT tires!.....they worked great until I hit the pack ice! Yeah , I went as far as I could without skidplates! I have to modify for the header! It's really ugly lots of boulders! here's a pic of a hillclimb!
  9. It was awesome! I cruised up through some low fog near the powerlines and then over the pass to sun!!! I headed off to fs rd 1811(cathedral ridge trailhead for some more gravel twisties! I was treated to a kewl view of the top of Hood ! I then made some donuts(with my subie)then proceeded over to Parkdale and up Cooper spur rd to Cloud cap for a picnic lunch and great views! The fall folliage was really kewl! I made my way back to hwy 35 and over to hwy 26 back home . On the way through Gresham near Fairview I spotted an '06 STI (blue ) I like the new front end of those cars! 200miles later I made it home , It was a good test day for my new Borlas! WOT! 12. Ground clearance on my outback is great .However ,the body clearance is what sux! That's where the Hummer and other 4x4's have the advantage!!!
  13. Freakin' Schweet!!! Forester you are the the RANGER now! I wish I could get my outback like your Forester! Someday! (wife will have a sh*t!!!)
  14. who says Soobs don't rock crawl!!!
  15. EJ series lift as well.........need pics! I have on '03 outback wagon in serious need! Note I have king springs already!
  16. tire pressures and mileage...... I prefer to leave the tire psi at the stock settings as handling is more my concern expecially at highway speeds. Given higher pressures will benifit with better mileage . I feel that stock pressures will be safer for hard cornering or abrupt manuevers(more contact patch) also less uneven wear on the tires.
  17. reminds me of ShadyIrishman......he got so big air in his lifted leg...........at WCSS7 it was awesome ......although there was some carnage.....one strut/rear window broken.....Noah has got a pic!!
  18. I had to use my bowsaw to cut small trees out as I was slidding off the road in packed snow(ice) almost down a hilldside whew....... here's my list: cellphone/FRS radios First aid kit tow strap w/ hooks (great for removing large blowdown /small boulders out of the way! shovels: spade/ snow chains!!! compressor 18v electric impact gun 4x4 block of wood(small) tarp 3 pairs of gloves: fleece/mechanics/nitrile headlamp/flashlights bungy cords/ratchet straps 1" fire extingusher needle nose vice grips (for rubber brake lines ) socket set/wrenches Maddox for really heavy blowdown! I got caught in a nasty windstorm and was blocked in with 100ft firs falling down allover! pretty scary! I got out in time... Duct tape zipties mechanics wire FUSEs water/oil extra clothing/rainpants/jacket/hat TP for my bunghole! extra food Beer for when life really sux!!!

I have an auto 4eat trans , so putting it in gear and turning is absurd! Are you kidding me ! removing spark plugs or disconnecting coilpack ! Get the right tools and do it right.......!
  22. "I want it , I need it ......give it to me now!" Quoted from a 5yr having a tantrum in Trader joes!!!ROFLMA.......! Better to lift ,than bash and get stuck! Getting highcentered in snow that's my beef!!! All soobs should come with a lift option factory!! Yeah ! The look on folks faces that you did the impossible with a subie!! Or you just got beat by a wagon!LOL! Yep changing the baby in the back is better lifted........!
