  1. it should pop right out, but if your trying to remove it the plug is in there and off to 1 side , and aleast the ones i have removed the plug always gets caught ,
  2. on my k-n filter there is a arrow showing which way, but on a regular one it fits in better one way
  3. the reason why i said do it yourself ,is because most shops around here would not service my 88 awd a/t subaru , and the ones that would charge 125 bucks
  4. could always do it your self , drain fluid into pan , pour used fluid in to gallon jugs , then your know how much to add ,

  7. thanks , remember i am stripping the 86 wagon , soooooo going to keep struts etc...... , going to try and drop motor / tranny out in 1 piece from underneith , miles fox has done this several times ,but miles is much faster than i am .
  8. well one of the inner boots is bad, but the other side is good sooooooooo going to remove control arm / sway bar
  9. already removed 3 strut bolts , thinking about it i did not remove the control arm or move it out of the way ,thanks
  10. not to be a smart butt , but are the belts to tight, my 88 dl did the same thing but no smell , noise coming from the crank pully , my belts were to tight , but it may not be your problem

  12. i am stripping out a 86 4wd 5sp wagon , trying to remove front axles , but it will not come apart from the tranny side ? i got the pin out ,axle nut and all bolts , i know there is a trick to this ?

  15. i got a set a few months ago , pretty good deal, , the next timing belt change i am going to change the tenision pullies also

  17. check timing belts, check axles, it may leak oil , check radiator, give it tune up,
  18. i have a 88 turbo a/t gl-10 wagon full time 4wd ,it did have air susp, regular struts were put in, it is 4 speed automatic , which mpg is ok also [ 22-23 city]about a year ago i stripped out a 88 turbo a/t fwd sedan

  21. yes that is what i am thinking also , sunday i am going to put on a different header pipe , i already have new gaskets for it ,

  23. if i can 's fix my exhaust problem , gasket keeps on blowing out 88 turbo , i have 2 spare pipes both off xt turbo's are they the same ? if so how hard is it to change pipes ? details ,thanks
  24. not to be a smart butt , but i had the same problem, mine was different noise ,turned out to be a bad rear tire
