  1. amsoil 10-30 in 88 spfi d/r wagon 191,000mi , used 2 qt at 5500mi , use 10w 30 hi milage valvoline in 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon, uses about 2qt at 4,000mi ,well leaks more than burns, thinking about using royale purple
  2. try , shell, bp, sunoco , around here gas is 2.42 for the 85 octine, 2.52 for the 87 octine

  6. here is something to think about ,if the other end can pick it up , because there will be a liftgate charge + residental charge , which can be high . the trucking will call the other end and set up a time for delivery + some one will have to be there to sign the bill , i am trying to think of the company we enter line with the west cost ,
  7. i do not do the business end, i am the truck driver that delivers the freight , it is called ltl , i delivery motors, frames, parts all day long, i would try overnight trucking, or roadway,i think what you are calling is a broker ,who sets it all up from picking it up to delivery
  8. i called a quick lube place and they would not do subaru's , i did it my self, drained out a/t fluid , poured it into jugs and knew how much i got out and replaced it with the same amount + did front diff and rear
  9. make very sure it is tight to the skid or in the crate with nothing sticking out , shipping ,try , american freight [ now fedex] overnight, yellow , roadway , mark the skid where it came from + where it is going , + a phone # on the bill of lading ,for who ever is getting it ,on the other end the guy getting the motor might be able to go to the trucking co and get it , i do this every day,

  12. what the brake line size , on a 86 carb, 5sp d/r wagon ,i broke part of the brake line close to the fuel filter ,which is right beside the fuel pump , can i splice a 6-8 inch piece in line ?
  13. while changing the fuel filter i broke the brake line , i must have hit the line some how,
  14. manual say 60,000mi , i would also do water pump , check oil seals , fan belts,
  15. could the slack adjusters freeze up , if so how to fix ?
  16. yes it is the wagon i just got , i do have a spare motor parts with good valves,seems like the alt needs replaced also

  20. going to look at a 86 carb d/r wagon ,and buying it , wife asked me why ? i told her because it is a subaru ,and the seller was going to junk it ,because it had a broken timing belt
  21. you can go farther between oil changes, i use amsoil or royale purple , i have noticed alittle more seeping of oil around the cam -covers ,than before but after a few miles it has stopped , ihave 191,000mi on my 88 d/r 5sp wagon, i have only added 1.5 qt in 5500mi ,as far as better mpg i did not get any better
