i have heard before, going from summer gas to winter gas, my mpg has also gone down in my 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon, 24-25 city to 22-23 city,

i use amsoil , at first it leaked some then stopped, i have a 88 dl d/r wagon , 192,000mi , it loves it, also gives me 5-10 lbs more oil pressure , i change it at 12,000mi change filter at 6,000mi ,i have only used 3 qt of oil at 6,000mi , it leaks alittle at rear main, on my 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd i use hi milage

my 86 sedan had it ,before i sold it , i used 15w-40 or 20w-50 and it took it right away , as soon as i started it up , or before i changed the oil i put in the crank case motor flush ,ran it 10-15 mins and changed the oil

my 88 dl had the same problem and it was the coolant temp ,auto zone has them i think a nissan 200 ?? is the same sensor + alot cheaper than the dealer ,miles fox knows ,

yes amsoil and royale purple cost more ,but only change it every 12,000mi ,regular oil cost 2bucks a qt , x, 4 = 8 + 4 for filter = 12 every 3,000mi , , ,amsoil 5.75 a qt = 23 + 4 for filter = 27 bucks ,every 12,000mi , so thats 48 bucks , using regular oil , i have amsoil in my 88 dl d/r wagon with 192,000mi , i have only used 3 qts in 6,000mi ,+ i sent a sample to black wells in ft.wayne IN, results were great after 5,000mi , + it gives me aleast 5-10 more lbs of oil pressure , i have tried alot of regular oil's in my dl ,and it likes the amsoil better , or you could just buy wal-mart brand oil+ wal-mart brand filter

weight sounds good, miles good, i use royale purple or amsoil, yes more per qt ,but i change the oil at 12,000mi filter at 6,000mi , as far as filters, wix, oem, mobile1, k-n, napa gold, , do not use fram

no, they give a picture , seems to be the right one, when i type in the part # it comes up exhaust flange gasket , and there are 2 of them

looked up in my oem parts book, part# 44022ga340 , exhaust pipe to engine , but i went to parts bin , they call it exhaust flange gasket ,is it the same gasket , ?

i need the gaskets for the cross over pipe for my 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon , there should be 2 , or are the spfi gaskets the same ? , i call them exhaust gaskets , coming out of the ports , thanks

any subaru that is rust free is worth pretty good $$ ,and a rx , is the seller needing $ does she know whats it's worth ? is it 4wd or fwd ? start cheap and go up , i got a nice rust free dl 5sp fwd for 85 bucks ,last year ,[ seller said bent valves]

you may need a pin wrench socket , if you look i asked about a place to get one

150 miles south of detroit , i think my rear wheel bearing is slowly going out , i remember seeing one on ebay , and here on the board , awhile ago ,

where can i get a rear wheel bearing tool [ special socket i think] for my 80s subaru 's , i have seen them on ebay and here , would autozone have them ?thanks

mine has alittle , i call a dead spot , not sure either, but i had a bad plug wire and it seemed to help + my timing was set alittle high , 88 dl d/r 191,000mi spfi wagon

my 86 dl wagon did the same thing , i had gotton wires that you do your self ,and one of the ends were not vey tight , so check or replace the wires , cap, rotor ,

there is a rear main seal ,

i run amsoil 10-w 30 in my spfi with 191,000mi , higher oil pressure, only added 2 qt at 5,000mi , i changed the filter at ,6,000mi and will change the oil at 12,000mi , may run royale purple in my turbo wagon
