  1. not to be a smart butt , but i had the same problem, mine was different noise ,turned out to be a bad rear tire
  2. 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd wagon 22-23 city ,25 hi way, [ 113,000mi] 88 dl d/r 5sp 24city 30 hi way, [194,000mi ] 86 brat with weber not sure , do not drive it in the saltly ohio roads
  3. 1 bolt is already 3/8 the other 1 is 14mm , should i put washers or lock washers ? and how many ?so what your saying is use 3/8 bolt and thread it by hand and it should go right in ?
  4. when you can get the carquest part # that would be great , because wife told me tonight that it is loud again, bolts seem to be drawing outward ,threads are good , , i will get a carquest gasket + hi temp sealant and try it , i have 2 spare turbo pipes , if i change the turbo pipe can i make the pipe bigger ? custom made , will this increase hp ? etc......
  5. replaced gasket ,bolts went in good , still alittle noise , but ok,
  6. replaced exhaust gaskets both sides not oem , and passanger side blew out again, had to take it to a shop for the drivers side [ 140 bucks] what would be causing it to keep on blowing out ? 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd , i am afraid if i mess with the passanger side ,the bolts may not go back in tight , should i double them up ? there was a thread some where about napa having a kite ?

  8. with proper care, they will last a long time, my 88 dl d/r 193,000mi , 88 turbo 112,000mi , 84 brat 193,000mi , no car is trouble free , change oil, other things when miles get higher

  11. i got the rear struts off my 86 4wd d/r wagon , [ came off easy] my question is how do you adjust them ?? i see 3 settings , it is at it's lowest setting , there are 2 higher settings ,there is some rust not to bad , another question , if i adjust them to the highest setting how much more will the back end set up ?? someone told me to adjust them while on the car ,there are going onto my wife's 88 turbo full time 4wd a/t wagon , there are already adjustable struts on the front which are on it's highest setting
  12. i agree with all the above , if you ever get a automatic turbo full time 4wd wagon like mine your mpg ,well aleast mine is 23mpg city maybe 25 highway , and then there's the air struts to deal with , other than that i like mine
  13. i have had pretty good luck with my ea82 motors, 88dl 192,000mi , would take it anywhere, 88 turbo 112,000mi runs good , 84 ea81 brat runs drives great 192,000mi
  14. welcome , i live pretty close to columbus [100 miles away] a few times a year i visit a friend of mine ,well several , and work or walk around the junk yards
  15. replace mine 88 turbo gl-10 , xt struts will work ,but will set to low, what you need is mamual adjustable struts from a 85 or 86 4wd wagon , the backs can used also from 85 or 86 wagon
  16. when you take out the glass , could you post how did it without cracking the windshield
  17. i use wal-mart full synthetic 10-w30 in my 88 turbo , 111,000mi , in my 88 dl i use amsoil 10w30 ,the amsoil gives me 5-10 more lbs of oil pressure , the 88 dl has 192,000mi , [ aftermarket oil pressure gauge] , and mobil 1 oil filters in both , never used the other stuff, wal-mart full synthetic sells for 12.67 a 5qt jug
  18. mine does the same thing , between 1st and 2nd gear , i call it a dead spot , but i have 193,000mi on motor , 88 dl d/r wagon
  19. check fuse box, coil wire, check under black small box linkable fuses ,
  20. a very good shop , told me to use honda gaskets , but which model i am not sure, i stripped my threads on 1 side and finally got it , but the other side blew again, 88 turbo
