  1. YES :slobber: :slobber: :slobber: :slobber:
  2. You have a Brat too? No it wasn't me you saw, but its cool to hear about other old Subies in the area. Sucks the majority don't know about this site. I have a neighbor with a silver second-gen Brat w/ white lowtop canopy. I've seen a clone of my Brat (second-gen dark blue w/ black lowtop canopy) In the SeaTac/Tukwila area. And at one time I saw a dark brownish second-gen w/ white hightop canopy cruising around Southcenter.
  3. You're doing it wrong. Host them on an image site first, or even upload them to facebook. After that, then we can go from there.
  4. I've been thinking of doing this for a while, good to see it looks decent when applied.
  5. Subscribed. Looking into antitheft options myself. Only problem is, if your friend can see this website; he will know if he has to wave magnets or rfid's around. Or he will damage the outside of your car to spite you. There is another option... :dead: What friend???
  6. Loyale2.7Turbo, some of them have indeed come from your thread, but that is because they are so cool they have to be shared more. I think the ratio of pictures not from that thread to pictures from that thread is pretty great though. Wish I had a welder.
  7. Lol know how you learn something new every day? Guess I forget some things every day. :-p Being that I didn't have a photo on hand at the time I was just going off of memory. I've taken these things apart numerous times. Heres a link to the ea81 I refurbished in my Brat (post 54): http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=125967&page=6
  8. They are ohv. The ea82s make more power and torque, the ea81 is cheaper to maintain. That yours?
  9. There is a gear inbetween the crankshaft and camshaft, the crankshaft turns the gear which in turn; turns the camshaft. The camshaft pushes lifters which push the "pushrods"; which operate the rockerarms; controlling the valves.
  10. Nothing breaks. Thats why it is so reliable. No timing chain/gears/belts.
  11. EA82s get a bad rep because of the Turbo version, the N/As really arent that bad. The carbourated versions were kinda gutless but the ones with spfi were an improvement. My '86 still has the hitachi ea82 in it. I'll be swapping in a new (refurbished) spfi longblock and putting a weber on top of that. Should be pretty sweet for a N/A ea82.
  12. Throw up indeed... This thread needs reviving now. Some real camaros: There, thats better.
  13. Kudos, that looks friggin sweet! We need some driving videos.
  14. ^If you get an ej18 (found in early imprezas) mated up to a 5 speed, it will get just as good of mileage as a n/a EA engine.
  15. No worries. Wish I had a collection like that.
  16. The earlier ej25's had headgasket problems, but really if you maintain a vehicle like you should there wont be a problem. Ej22 is the way to go if you just want to avoid the chance of leaks. Do some searches on here before you rule out other options.
  17. All loyales had ea82 engines. Why are you avoiding the EJ's? They have been proven to be much more efficient and have more power than the ea82. If you are looking for reliability (without EJ), the ea81 (1981-1984 wagon, 1981-1984 sedan, 1981-1984 coupe, 1981-1989 hatchback, and 1981-1987 Brat) are the reliable engines of the EA series.
  18. Wow, they also skipped over the gen2... and included the Justy??!! wtf? lol This is a discraceful "history" video. :-p
  19. Not for sure, but I think this is just a little display at a museum in Japan. The second and third generation legacy are also absent here, as well as any imprezas of the same eras.
