The Awesome Older Generation Picture Thread

Not for sure, but I think this is just a little display at a museum in Japan. The second and third generation legacy are also absent here, as well as any imprezas of the same eras. -

How did I miss that? It would be so awesome to get one of those aircraft modified ea81s. I would take the supercharged one, it looks like it would fit in the engine compartment better. -
Hope everyone had a good easter. Here are two of the eggs I made this year; OG subie logo and crash test dummy egg.

Don't replace your ea81 with an EJ', when you can supercharge it. -

Thank you everyone for the props. I think it will be easiest and look the best with another hood, we have a few straight ones to choose from in our parts stash. Since we are going to sand down and repaint a fender, might as well do the same for a replacement hood. 1982gl4, I feel the same way over your '82 gl wagon.

Today was a nice day, so I thought I would take the DL out for a jog around the block. I love the sound of the weber. Documenting the current condition of repair. (this is what it looks like under the panels in the first pictures) ^^^ This will all be straight as an arrow when we're done. Thinking about getting a straight hood to replace this one, otherwise the inside framework of the hood might have to be removed to get it completely straight. Bondo would have to be used as well. x( The Goods. Weber and power steering; power steering not hooked up atm. Kyb GR-2 front and rear. Drilled and slotted rotors. The near-flawless interior. (Only flaws are the stereo console, which we have a mint replacement with oem radio, and a small tear in the drivers seat.) Fun fact: the steering wheel cover is made of ostridge hide. PIAA wiper blades. Custom (??) slider rear window. Project Mint-Brat and my '85 <--she needs a bath. A message from FHI. Can't wait to get this thing wrapped up and back to its former glory.

I have the original window sticker, sale sticker, canopy instructions/warranty, dealer notes/checklists, business cards from the dealer, 1985 nationwide dealer list of phone numbers, owners manual, and baggy that the keys came in for my 1985 Brat. She came from Subaru of Tacoma. Cool build, interested in where this goes.

From looking at the pictures, I would say its imported. It has the little 4wd emblem on the hood that US cars never got, and the rear subaru emblem doesn't say "GL" or "DL" along with it. Instead it has either 1600 or 1800 above the little 4wd emblem on the lower left of the hatch. I've never seen any US produced touring wagons dating pre-1989. It sucks thats the only year we got them. Someone should deffinately snag this up. Also it has the In-Bumper headlight sprayers, and In-Fender turn signals that we never got in the US.

I would deffinately take this one over the white lowered one. The only thing I see wrong with it is the lip is a little tweaked. Very cool coupe. -
Thinking of some cheap radio options, got my speaker boxes and speaker wire ready to go. I also have the '86 wagon ready to get tore-into, which will become the daily. This will become a restoration project. So many projects so little time. :-p

82' Brat (Picture Warning)
6 Star replied to stewartkb's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The clunking around noise sound like the clutch. A friend of mine had a honda that was making the same noise and thats what it was. The whine-y noise is probably the throwout bearing. -
Great find!!

NVM Lets see... Lately I have just been driving my Brat without problems. Got her re-tabbed last month, gotta love that $50 sticker. Been saving up for my '86 Wag project. Hope to get that under way soon. For now it will get a rebuilt FuelInjected longblock and I'll be putting a weber on top of that.

Looks like a good base for restoration. Its interesting... this is yet another Brat I've seen where people put '80-'81 grills and headlight bezels on an '82. Since yours is a GL, it would have had a passing lamp (aka cyclops/center/grill lamp). Maybe by some shred of luck it is still under the grill on it now? The original looked like this: And you can see the center/grill lamp here: I kind of have a thing for '82s. Have fun with her. -
Any one have any pictures of lowered EA82's?

Salmon, what wheels do you have on the back? I can see they are re-drills... They look nice and fill out the fenders. I'll have to look into one of these air dams as well, looks sharp.
