  1. Hey i live in co too! glad to see some more people. But the small vs. big turbos its power but also it is the time from when the turbo starts to when you get power. smaller turbos theres less lag from when you get power but you don't get as MUCH power as a bigger turbo. Twin turbos do have a little more power but you have the issues of more work and more parts to break. i personally would just do a single EJ22T (which is whats going in my brat soon). Also with a Ea82t sedan, and all my friends who have turbo sti's/ wrx's, and even audi's one single turbo can produce quite a bit of hp, low end and top end.
  2. Me too! even tho it wouldn't fit mine still jealous!
  3. Its deffinetly thin, but its working so far... might end up just putting another layer of it, on the inside of the wheel wells.
  4. Yeah I'm not working with a good welder at all... (barrowing it from my school..). The front wheel wells I'm actually using 22gauge, and that rear piece is 16 guage. Luckily the fire isn't coming towards my house, and my beloved brat and is way more contained then before!! I have some parts hopefully coming in soon as well. Both door glass, front side lights, rear glass,
  5. Also curious as i am going to have to do this soon!
  6. I have 1 of the H style wheel if that's the one your talkin about
  7. I am keeping it, sorry. So made some progress today kinda, with 80-90 mph winds makes things hard to do. The project might have to be stopped and put on hold tho... theres a 3000 acre fire and growing miles away from my house, but hopefully nothing will happen
  8. Thought id just share my subi sound. Ea82t. 2.5 inch turbo back (does have cat) to a 3.5 inch can exhaust. *This isn't off a cold start* http://s1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa340/conifersubaru/?action=view&current=7377f437.mp4
  9. Is this a push button. Or hi/low? Not sure if this helps but when I take out of 4wd (push button) my trans "klunks" as it disengages not sure why but it hasn't effected anything and my mechanic told me not to worry. Not sure about why it's having trouble turning.
  10. picking up metal and my welder today (will get pics of how the shock towers are) also debating on a EJ22 ($950),EJ20T ($750) or EJ20TT($750)...Sooo... i want to get the EJ20TT... but not sure so... tell me your thoughts! I don't mind not using a gl (hi/low) trans, but would definitely like to.
  11. Found out where my mysterious leak in my trunk was coming from... Now I have to fix the rust in it. Also tried switching the turn signals with the corner lights was a cool idea but ended up not liking it, so I switched them back
  12. Oh well they are perfect, there's one little dime sized piece of rust but are solid.
  13. Camera was crooked. but still working on the interior. this weekend starts the whole patching process! wooopie haa. What are the bolt size and length that hold the tailgate hinges on to the body? If any one knows?
  14. Also along with the cold you have enough juice to run your heater ALOT and not have drastic power loss, more lights on your car etc. Its about how much your draining, and not to over stress a cheep battery or else you will have to buy a new one sooner down the road.
  15. I would take the boost controller off and install a boost gauge if theres not one in it already. (helps me know when I'm actually boosting seeing as the one on the dash says its running when its really not) i can be doing 55 and be at 5lbs and the dash turbo light is engaged but 6 is where I actually get boost. I normally fill my tank when it gets a notch above the red mark and end up putting in around 11-12 gallons. (I have the amber dash) so I'm not sure how many notches you have compared to me or if its the same. I usually also average 33-35 highway on that 12 gallons. as for the Trip computer thing, i would check the connections. as far as i know (not a master at subarus ha) but i don't think there is a fuse. I would personally just replace most if not all fuses, to be on the safe side (who knows it could fix your gauge issue. You are correct on the analog sender it is pretty different (found that out today as well). but there is always that route. Different question is yours a sedan or wagon? and maybe post some pics?
  16. Yes mine is accurate as hell! i also have the trip computer in my car as well. but do you have the Green or orangeish yellow dash?
  17. I would try a new sender unit for the digi dash. Also maybe check that your wiring for the sender unit to the rest of the harness are plugged in right. today i checked mine after i was having issues with my fuel gauge and one wire wasn't fully connected.
  18. Thats fine no big rush. but This car is beautiful!
  19. Do you have corner (front) lights? also would it be possible to send me pics of all the gen1 parts you have? Shortysayhi@yahoo.com
  20. Luck of the draw actually, i was up in boulder with my dad (he's buying a justy) and we asked the used parts dude if he had any brat parts. said tailgates are in bad shape you can take them.... they are in pretty GREAT shape besides a dent and no handles! so i took em! Heres some pics. this don't look too good :\ Also just mocked this up to see if its possible Also decided to just have a Extra car around so the 1.8 isn't going into the brat, I'm getting a 2.2.
  21. To be honest no i didn't know that, this is my first brat so I'm still fining new things out all the time!
  22. The loyal headlights i would end up doing the exact same thing that I've done on my gl10 which is the hid/projector conversion (its relatively simple) and increases visibility a whole ton. The main reason I'm using the dual range is I'm thinking of having 2 different coil over sets (one winter, one summer which is lower) and since i live in conifer (8500-9000) we have gotten 4 feet of snow in one night and i prefer the dual range over normal AWD, but also being able to drive to the ski slopes in colorado it pays to have more the awd, and in the summer its cheeper on gas since its fwd. A 2.2 conversion is going to be done just a ways down the road (with the dual range). I have to get a bond title on the brat anyways and those can take along time to get, and i don't have enough money for a 2.2 conversion right now seeing as I'm a senior in High school still and no job.
  23. Nope im in conifer, and my brat was in indian hills (10 min away from me) Picked these up today now i got 2 H type wheels. the one bad thing about the tailgates is no handle latch :\ gotta find one!
  24. Half of my drive is down hill normally (8500 ft to around 5280) so save a lot of gas there but I've got my car set up where I can be doing high speeds 55+ (even up hill) maintains same speed, with out the turbo going. And around 430 miles per tank but I always make it so I put 12 gallons in. And it should go up when I put the front air dam on to get more downforce.
