  1. Definitely not air suspension seeing how the compressor and air tanks are inside drivers front fender. it's what 'TheLoyal' said it is.
  2. 86 ea82t Sedan. i get 28 city, and most i got highway 35 (with 4 studded snows) and this is hills and mountains
  3. Yeah that was the other idea stated, so that there was more offset. Im not sure if thats even safe... let alone a good idea Haha
  4. Nope, they are 8J Weller 8 spokes originally destined for a Toyota Hilux, and they were re drilled to the 4 lug.
  5. Oh and i also have to find a place for the warning lights (i.e. charge, break fluid light etc..)
  6. i actually cut the cluster in half (where the diagram of the car is) has to be moved, and i added a ea82 center clock.
  7. Well worked on it today and gave up on the loyal dash it started becoming to hard of a task to get to fit let alone have the heater work... so i swapped the brat dash back in, but changed the gauges to the loyal ones with some modifications. Also i started fixing the fenders that were bashed in. will get pics tomorrow. Also started on the seats and ideas on the suspension conversion.
  8. I'm deffinetly going through with the headlight task but it will have to wait till I get the engine, and fenders, bumpers fixed. Yes the dash is in I'm also putting the heater module in from my wagon (keep things easier) the only issue I am having on the dash is since I had to cut about an inch and half on both sides to clear the doors fixing the heater vents and sides is a challenge. I will get better pics this weekend. There is about half a inch gap from the bottom window sill to the edge of the dash gotta fix that as well hmm
  9. Yeah its a great truck! And its the only way out of our driveway when the snow falls. its the j2000 (longer wheel base then your j200)
  10. Not totally sure why they didn't/ haven't made an AWD option for it, that seems more wanted then just a rear wheel drive subi
  11. Which one, 5 speed Hi/low or the rx trans? (I'm not sure they differ in weight but its possible). i am dropping a hi/low trans in the coming week ill weigh it unless someone else has the info.
  12. Look at the hid bulb it self, this rarely happens (it happened to me tho) the bulb filament things on the top broke so it didn't work and my other side was working but didn't sound right. Also you could raise the hood lever things so its harder to open your hood, that might deter some one if they are messing with your car.
  13. http://shop.lightwerkz.net/Complete-Morimoto-H1-Bixenon-Projector-Retrofit-Kit this is the exact kit i got (it comes with everything) the one thing you need to choose on it is the h7 (its the same plug as the h4 but you just have to re wire them in the right place for hi/low/ ground). The belt sander worked great actually, i started with 80 grit and worked my way down. i just got the belt wet and had a little water in the headlight and kept getting the dirty water out and putting it back in. the one hard part that i had was getting the cloudiness out. then i found out that the headlight resto kit i bought had super fine sand paper in it and did that then used a power drill to polish and clean. and they are as you see them. The hid kit doesn't come with sealer to glue them back so i used JB weld (the 4 min one) it can resist up to 300 degrees, just incase i encounter a problem i can always stick it in the oven and split it apart.
  14. What do you think? (its just roughly put in). Also you forgot a 10 socket, hammer and pliers is all you need haa
  15. I bought a hid KIT, theres a difference between HID and HID with projectors. I did the same as Turbone they work great, the whole kit (bulbs, ballists, wiring, 2 hid bulbs, and Projectors... (they spread the light)) it ended up costing me 300+about 200 because the company i bought it from didn't give me instructions for the wiring harness. Now i know how to do them so it would total to 300. The labor just for splitting the glass to the bucket and installing the projectors, but also sanding the glass to get rid of the ridges took about total of 8 hours (for both). The Hid kit was bi xenon which is the Hi/low beams. and they work with out problems.
  16. I think it was different, I'm pretty sure he changed to a solid axle and just used springs (not in the fender wells) Heres my progression as of today, got the wagon ea82 harness out and dash, and started modifying!
  17. Ea82, how many studs are there? and what specs do the nuts have to be torqued to when putting them back?
  18. im interested in this as well... my 86 is doing the EXACT same thing on same side! Go figure.
  19. Yeah thats what i was thinking just have to take one off a gl and find out I'm just thinking since I'm moving the harness from my parts car (wagon) and engine from sedan i could use the tail lights make things simpler and parts are easier to find! I said this before, but i am ending up using gl rectangular headlights instead of the quad round ones. that will be a challenge Yeah im not excited to fix it... unless i end up making wheel wells square-ish.
  20. So today was first day, and i tore Everything out!. Fixed dented roof a bit, but found out ea81 brat dashes aren't that hard to take out. I had some other ideas (not sure if they are possible or not) but on the rear would it be possible to use shocks that are the same ones as the fronts? (obviously modification to accomplish it) but would it be better then the single shock? I also had one more idea which is to use 86 gl wagon tail lights instead of the brat ones? whatcha think?
  21. I will let you know deffinetly, the main things I need are glass, I'm not restoring I'm putting in ea82 with hi/low trans, lowering it and. Fixing the rust! And complete dash swap etc. same goes if you find some leads. I also Had a idea of making the 4 lights changed overto the square gl/ legacy bracket type set up.
  22. Thanks, and no i haven't... never even heard they had some If you go to like auto zone and see the brand/ manufacturer and compare it to walmart they might be the same but cheeper. My tint i think was 12-16 and I'm using 20-25% tint on mine, its dark enough to not have to use the mirror night/ day switch, and you can see some what into the car from out side, i just want darker. looked on my computer and found this.
