  1. I applied and was chosen also. Supposed to get my ambassador $ on April 3. Also said I would be getting mags, brochures, etc in the mail along with a shirt and jacket. I haven't been too involved other than driving my 86 Camo Subie around the last 2 years due to health but hope that improves this year. Glad Subaru is recognizing that the owners are probably their best way to advertise. Not sure what my game plan is going to be yet, but I'm excited. Downloaded the ambassador guide - now have to read it to see what they expect.
  2. I believe so if you ate biscuits and gravy at our camp. Just got off the phone with my Mom and she was trying to talk me to heading to Lewiston and staying with relatives and then go on up thru Sandpoint I think she said to hit 90. Still planning so will give a shout out if I decide to take 2. Thanks,
  3. Will be driving 86 Hatch from Portland OR to Williston ND - first day to Spokane and then head on 90 and 94 east. Any recommendations for reliable repair place just in case? Also any recommendations for eating places and good places to stop for the night would be appreciated. And wouldn't mind talking to anyone out there in eastern MT or northwestern ND. Thanks!
  4. Ed thanks for posting this. Ken just started a job and is hoping he has enough $ to race. Lynn
  5. Ok who did I pass yesterday around noon on Tualatin Sherwood Rd? I was driving my 86 camo hatch and you were also driving a camo hatch. I'm sure I saw the vehicle at WCSS13. When my hatch grows up I want it to look like yours! Lynn
  6. Darn - we're moving that weekend so Ken won't be able to do rally cross. Oh well - next year!
  7. Ed - Ken said is was just blind luck on the laps at PIR. He doesn't have cruise control.
  8. Saw you out there - wondering why we didn't see you in the race - can't believe no one wanted to go with you. Had a great time as usual but it was very hot! Next year let's try to get a lot of USMB folks from Portland and SW WA area to go.
  9. Saw your Silver Brat at Interstate Fred Meyer's. Just wondered if you were a member here and if you are just passing thru the area or have moved here. Nice Brat in any case.
  10. Ed - Ken will be there for sure. I'm not so sure about my car - if the weather is real hot I probably will not race as I need a new dual core radiator so my car is not overheating. Lynn
  11. Thought Ed was going to post this but I beat him to it. Cost is only $30 - and we ran 2 cars last year - had great fun. Here's the link: http://www.oregonrally.com/road-rally/rally-against-parkinsons Last year there were Subaru's (of course) but trucks and all kinds of cars. A very worthy cause - so all you folks close in WA & OR ought to come. Lynn
  12. Welcome - nice score on the car too. Lots of members in OR and WA. Come to WCSS14 next year!
  13. You had the blue Brat at WCSS13 right? Sweet car
  14. Yes, Ed - Stevenson is the perfect place for the show. Thank you people who worked so hard to put the show on for us. Good to meet new people and visit with old friends. Ken or I will try to post up a few of our pics this week. Nice pics Turbone! P.S. I covet your Hatch - mine needs to be lifted:) Lynn
  15. We're all going to have a great time at WCSS13. Thank you all you wonderful people who made it possible. Quick Question: I believe at WCSS11 there was wifi available. Will we have access this time? See all of you Friday! Lynn
  16. I'm hoping to be past Troutdale by 10 a.m. Friday the 26th but in case I can't get the 20 yr old kid moving fast enough the camo 85 Hatch will join the caravan. Although it isn't really sounding like a caravan at this point. Lynn
  17. Went over Bridge of the Gods Friday coming back from camping. It's $1 for cars. Not sure if we will meet up with the caravan or not - want to get my favorite camp spot close to the Canadians. In any case I'm bringing my 86 Hatch this year. The 83 silver wagon (with the silver surfer hood ornament) bit the dust in a car wreck in Nov. Lynn
  18. Lynn in Portland - I'm bringing my 86 Camo Hatch Ken is bringing his 95 Impreza Rally Car Have to leave the 82 Brat at home! See yah all there!
  19. Understand heavy thunderstorms, lightening, possible nickel size hail and yes, let's not mention rain. Talked to Ken and Markus a couple hours ago and they are getting ready to hunker down for the night. Be safe all you volunteers (and drivers too). Ed hope you have dry environment for the night. Lynn
  20. floortom (Ken from Portland) & son is at PIR today working on press stage and will be working Sat & Sun. Lynn
  21. Ed - I'm sure Ken will be there with the Impreza if he doesn't sell it before then. Jacob - if I don't come, I'll make sure that Ken brings the paperwork from when we bought the PC. Lynn
  22. Thanks for the replies so far. Very helpful. Anyone else with comments? Also anyone have a 83 or 84 wagon for sale within 200 miles of Portland OR. If so, send particulars. Thanks, Lynn & Ken
  23. Administrators move this if I'm in the wrong thread. The Silver Surfer has died. But after killiing a Chevy Sonoma mid size truck (it even knocked the rear axle off the truck) it goes to an honorable death. Problem - what is an 1983 Subaru GL wagon worth. It's pretty much totally stock, not lifted has EA81, 4 sp 4WD and was a daily driver capable of making long trips even in hot weather without blowing a head gasket. No big dents or dings. Some of you saw this wagon at WCSS11 in Stevenson. The insurance company is going to low ball us and probably offer us $300-500 we figure. I have talked to an attorney, and he said the insurance company should be paying us "net fair market value" of the vehicle. So what do you folks consider that value of the vehicle. This much loved wagon has a little over 240,000 miles and faithfully goes thru DEQ every two years. Thanks for any help. Oh, and would love to hear from anyone who has similar wagon for sale within 200 miles of Portland, OR in Pacific Northwest Lynn & Ken in Portland, OR
  24. Hey Bill: Cruizing thru Toppenish a week ago Tuesday afternoon and saw your wagon. Recognized it immediately. We were on our way to Ellensburg to pick up a tranny. Just wanted to say hi. We were in our 95 rally car - think multiple colors as we are replacing doors and fenders right now. Lynn & Ken
  25. Ran my first rally race today. The 2 laps at PIR were so fun. And we only took 4 wrong turns during the road rally thru the hills to Estacada LOL. We had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people. And for $25 it was worth every bit of it. Ed and Jeanne Rauschner ran a great race and got a prize. Congrats. I think race results should be posted later tonight. Next year a lot of people should run this race. Lynn Kindred
