  1. I don't know what you call this thing, but it runs the width of the bed just behind the gate. Does anyone have this little bugger?
  2. Looking good! Keep up the good work.
  3. It's amazing. I wish I had the kind of skills it takes to do this kind of stuff. Alas, I'm pretty much a mechanical moron. Best of luck with her. I'll be watching.
  4. I just bought one so I'll be looking to you for help and expert advice! I follow your posts on FB and am jealous every Friday... until this Friday when I'll have my own.
  5. Some prior owner installed a push button start that requires the key be in the on position before depressing. However, it has degenerated to the point that I am not able to turn the key back, at least not until I get lucky. Any suggestions? I'd really like a decent replacement. Is this a part that can be found still? Or is used my only option? Is it easy to replace and rekey?
  6. Welcome... I'm up north... in Phoenix. Glad you're here. Let's see a few pictures of your Leone. We all like pictures here.
  7. I love the part where the yellow 360 is going around the corner and the rear wheel comes off the ground. And THEN it goes off the track. LMAO. And then later guy teeing off in a wild field! LOL. This is comedy gold. Also, the 66 mpg was pretty much a myth according the the article below.. they got 25-35. That Star Wagon was sweet! Here is the Consumer Reports review that probably almost put Subaru out of business in the US. http://www.mysubaru360.com/manuals_and_documents/Subaru_360_Consumer_Reports_April_69.pdf I'd still love to have one!
  8. Oh, I guess you're right about all those extras. I guess I never thought too much about it. My eyes are opened! These were certainly not luxury cars over here, believe me. I love the brochure. Interesting factoid about how they were marketed differently. Thanks for sharing that.
  9. Hey, at least they put the steering wheel on the other side for you guys across the pond (probably just put it on the left side for US, right?)! Well, that's a pretty nice graphics package for the vintage. I don't think the US versions got offered too much more than that though.
  10. I had the '05 Sport Turbo Auto... I traded it away in 2012. I miss it all the time since I'll never find one just like it again. It had $41K on it. Damn... what did I do?
  11. You don't like the Blue interiors? All mine are blue. LOL. I don't mind them, at least not on the colors I have.
  12. Yeah, the Buy Back is a giant marketing ploy. All the manufacturers play the game in one form or fashion. Subaru is in the business to make money in the end, it's pure capitalism at play. But, you have a terrific car that should last you a very long time and you have a new dog too, from what I understand. Enjoy the Subaru. The 2014's will be old in like 6 months, so don't worry about it and enjoy the ride. :-)
  13. Hey, welcome. There aren't too many other cars that make people smile like a BRAT does. Plus, if you haven't ready noticed, everyone has a BRAT story from their youth. Best of luck with her. I have a '79 BRAT myself. Are you gonna show us a picture or six?
  14. Here's a couple more of the 1979. It was originally silver. It has A/C and a clock with a face and hands. Yeah, fancy, I know. It does have an aftermarket radio that I want to replace with an original someday. I'm pretty sure the Targa Stripe is from Earl. I still need a few small parts for it but it's pretty nice overall. I've never been in a car that makes so many people smile. And, everyone you meet has a BRAT story from their youth. Well, at least the old people like me. The car is not heavily modified. She purrs like a kitten.
  15. You can see more here http://s1234.photobucket.com/user/scole665/library/?sort=3&page=1. I got rid of the green SVX and the Red Brat earlier this year. A Sambar would be sooo nice for this collection. I've been looking at this 360. There was a Sambar (beautifully restored) in NY but I missed the high bid. UUuugh. I so wanted it. next time, I hope.
  16. Just showing off my BRAT's. They're not usually all together, but today they are, in a moment of rareness. Two 1986's and a beautifully restored1979 (and an SVX which is hidden in this picture). I may be willing to trade something for a 360 or a Sambar. ;-)
  17. I swapped out the entire cluster on my BRAT let year. It was pretty easy to take it out, couple screws and some patience. Detaching the plugs was the most difficult part due to hands not being baby-sized. You might try that. I think fishing it would be virtually impossible, as you've figured out. I'm actually looking for a speedo cable for a manual tranny for an 86 BRAT, if anyone has one.
