  1. We ran a 420 cid porpane mixer on a 2.2 turbo and on a 3.0 turbo and have run ea82 and ea81 turbos on propane seems that the 420 is just big enuff.We had tried to use a 325 mixer but was to small for ej motors worked good on smaller motors. I like to run both so can swich back and forth between propane and gas.
  2. my justy i put on a turbo legacy intergrated oil cooler and a sunbird turbo and header i love it in the snow. But even with the oil cooler i only get about 2500 kms before oil gets cooked turbo has no water cooling. So oil gets hot and needs to be changed more often
  3. Mines in a 79 wagon with remote pump but most cut down harness cars are slow to start first time when cold
  4. my cut down harness car is a pain to start the first time every time uses a 2.2 harness with 2.5 turbo engine have narrowed it down to air lock between injectors and pump when it sitts. It has to push all the air out before it gets feul to injectors thiss takes some cranking time. Could be fixed with a one way check valve close to injector feeds to prevent feul prehsure bleed back
  5. thiss whould be a rail type car long and high hp wonder if could get a mega squirt that could run 12 cly at same time ?
  6. What oil when its cold well my justy turns a bitt slow in - 25-35 but starts just fine and gets 15-40 all year round. Its the only car i whould drive in winter as it far surpasses the handleing of any other subaru i own or have seen in the snow and ice. All my other subarus start fine with heavy oil 15-40 all year round. I a'm more woried about breakdown of oil from heat than i a'm about damage from cold start
  7. low reverse clutch pack if you go realy easy on it in reverse should last a bitt

  9. have seen more overheated subaru engines probly than anyone else. And the oil is cooked in most and dosent matter what kind of oil. The oil dosent make the engine fail heat do's. Yes synthetic will take more heat but i have seen no proof it increses the life of engine. Less if anything because people think they can leave it longer between oil changes. The engines i tear apart that have run synthetic all there life are way dirtyer inside than the ones that ran conventanal oil. I use quaker 10 -40 or 15-40 deisel oil no 5-30 ever ! and 10 -30 very rarely subarus have always liked heavy oil if you whant it to last anyway. Had a outback wagon 2.5d 420000kms on origanal engine ran wallmart 10-30 its whole life and still runs good and engine was spotless inside mind you it leaked a litre a day but still runing strong.
  10. just bought 10 sets of starter contacts they go for 2$ a set and take ten minutes to change do this dayly
  11. well two 3.0 = 6.0 L close but need more have two svx 3.3 that whould make 6.6 L closer butt still not enuff. To catch a blown acohall hemi think he was 2700 hp last time i checked did 200 ft mud pitt in 2.1 seconds take me a while to get there.

  13. i have a 91 fun justy 2dr i cut down a 98 out back roof rack and mounted it to the roof using the factory outback mounting plates. I also glued all the seams with winshield urathane and monofoamed all the spaces in the roof thiss made the roof very rigid and strong. I carry a 300lb boat on the roof no problem. Late model justy ????? have never heard of sutch a thing they stoped maken them here in 95 mine has a 1.2 turbo engine makes 120 hp
  14. oil is oil and any oil is better than no oil have seen subarus run anykind of oil and last forever run it low one time and done
  15. hmm or bolt two 3.0 back to back and make a 6.0 48 valve flat 12 oh it even sounds good might be a tadd heavy but whould sound sweet. And use one monster turbo for both engines
  16. I think the tbi whould pass air care better than a carb as it has a 02 senser and can fine tune the mixture my tbi brat runs way cleaner than my carbed brat by alot and realy wasent hard to convert. 81 brat with 91 tbi it just works so mutch better
  17. the fan gets its power from the big black and red wire off bottom of fuse box and thiss plug gets kicked alot may have broke the conector or pulled wire out
  18. the first check is do the hazards work ? they share the fuse with horn then fix the burnt fan realy under the ds side of dash then take the shift interlock realy box and resoider the ground on the chip board . and mabee a fan motor if you tap the motor with hammer and it restarts then needs a fan.
  19. I have two rx clutch pack lsd diffs and wouldent sell for les than 700$ and even then no they are very rare and have oly ever seen two. The turbo legacy ones are cheaper and easyr to find. But still i get 350 $ all day for them and have a wait list for lsd diffs. Oh and i.m a diff tag junkie check e'm all found a lsd in a beater loyale other day why i dont know but somone had put it in there. Keep looking was way more of them in usa than up here
  20. have two 90-91 legacys right now that loose pulse on injector 1 at idle but ok when reved up narrowed it down to worn out idle motor
  21. Thats the starting price for base 2.2 and go's up from there i only have two parts supplyers and they pull from same wherehouse. The parts here have big markup from the supplyers. I dont think its all of canada just BC that has thiss pricing problems.
  22. And then i get a 98 outback with 425000kms on it engine never been apart and one owner just blew the headgasket for first time and runs good still. The customer whants me to do heads so she can see how high she cam push the kms on the origanal engine. A bitt scary but hey push it to 500000kms or better

  24. I'm shure you cant tell but when i'm turning 4 31 paddle tires you notice even a small drop in toruque we learned thiss when we lightened flywheels.and ended up with a car that stalls when you let clutch out because there was not enuff rotating mass
