Ok the owner called me back this morning and gave me a little more info on the car. It has 180,000 miles. He told me he knows nothing about cars too. He was driving it at the time and said the tranny was working fine. He says that once in a while when he tries to start it it just clicks. He replaced the battery. So I was thinking starter? Ignition module possibly? Any thoughts? I am going to go check it out this afternoon. i am probably going to buy it anyway just because of the low price. come on it's a Subaru. How hard could it be to fix?

I guess this is the closest I will probably ever get to owning one:lol: -
Or the fan motor resistor could be bad. It is real easy to check too. On the side of the blower motor there are 2 phillips screws with 2 wires coming out of it. Take it out and have a look at it. It is what controls the speed of your blower motor. If it is damaged you will be able to tell. They are a few little metal coils. If one or more is broken or burnt you have found your problem. If that is the case I may have a extra for you. If you don't want to go that route you may still be able to get them new from Subaru still. If that does not turn out to be your problem you may have the fan motor going bad. Again still easily fixable. I have 2 extras of those sitting around. Again, you may be able to still get one new though.

Just want to make sure that you know that the blower only works on the 2 center vents. The other 2 are just air being forced in through the cowl. That is the metal vent in front of the windshield. They are fresh air vents only. That may change with a A/c car though.

Man that thing is SWEET! If you need any parts I might have a few things. I parted out a 76 DL sedan about 6 months ago. I might have something you need. -

This is for the 79 wagon right? How are you going to get it to pass smog with the weber? If its a smog legal carb I would love to go that route on my 78 Brat. -

I think you should do the engine swap. I would say EA-71 but parts are becoming more scarce all the time. Go with the EA-81. Too bad you can't change the tranny out too and replace those strange inboard drum brakes with some good disc brakes out where they belong. Well, I suppose anything is possible if you have the right tools and time right? Hey it's your car. I agree with the other guys that it is your do what you want. It's not like it will ever be a real valuable car to anybody but us Subie lovers anyway. -

Wasn't sure if he had other stuff for a FF-1. I just looked at his sellers list and he had 35 NOS Subaru parts for sale. -

You better get over to ebay. There is a guy selling NOS parts and I saw at least 1 turn signal lens for that car there. It was a front one though. Guy has 35 things for sale. I imagine Paul could probably identify the part number as to what they got to. I will just give you a link instead:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-68-69-70-71-72-Amber-Marker-Lens-NOS-NEW-Star_W0QQitemZ180165140679QQihZ008QQcategoryZ10076QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem -
