Part number for EA-81 slanted console
Subieguy replied to Subieguy's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thanks Mick for the part numbers. Do you happen to have the part number for the ashtray for the slanted console. I need the gray one. Thanks, Richard -
Anybody have the part number for an EA-81 slanted cosole. I would like to see if they are still available. I just picked up one here on the board and whoever cut the hole for the radio butchered it! Useless to me. So if anybody has a factory parts manual could you possibly give me a part number. Thanks, Richard

Hey, As long as you can get some usable parts for your car that is all that matters.

Major Brake / Axle Work - Tips or Tricks?
Subieguy replied to Crabman's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Yeah I had to fabricate a tool to get the calipers turned back down. Definetly a pain to do if you don't have a tool for it. -
Glad to see you put the front bumper back on it. Just did not look right without it.

Your engine should be the EA-63. 1.4L engine.

You obviously don't live here. The smog techs are getting more and more thorough with their inspections. I highly doubt that would get by them any more in this state.

Looks like a gen 2 Brat slider to me. -

If you need one I have the one off my 76 DL. -
Actually, the movie is The Manhatten project that the kid steals the plutonium from with his brat.

Sure you don't want it to be acid dipped to kill all that rust that is hiding in all the cracks and so forth. I know sandblasting is good but it can't get into every concealed spot. -
Just got a gen 1 brat... (1978) need help
Subieguy replied to foresterxtguy's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Might not be the emergency brake handle. The calipers could be seized. How long has it been sitting? Also post some pictures of what you need. I know I have quite a bit of gen 1 stuff as well as other members on the board too. -
Single exhaust port EA63?

Looks like the EA-63 that was in my 76 DL sedan. -
Ok, I finally got around to changing the thermostat today after I did the one in my 85 GL-10. I got a Subaru one for both. It shows that it is a 180 thermostat. The one I pulled out of the Brat said it was a 160. It looked ok. Not stuck open. Just wrong temp. Now the heater actually works pretty good and the temperature actually stays at operating temperature while I drive it.

I need to change the oil in my 5 speed tranny in my 85 GL-10 2wd sedan. What kind of gear oil should I use and how much does the 2wd tranny hold? This is one of the last things I need to do and the 85 will be done so any help would be great. Thanks. Richard

Still waiting on the power steering pump I paid you for 3 weeks ago. Since you can't seem to answer my e-mails or mail the part I paid for how about sending my money back and I will get someone else to ship one out to me. I have never had a experience on the board like this before and I sure hope not to again. Very frustrating Rob. Can't figure out why you could not ship this.:-\

Now all he needs to do is send out the power steering pump I paid him for. I know I am not the only one waitning on Rob. I was contacted today by another member about not getting parts from Rob today. So I know I am not the only one getting the shaft here. I paid him almost 2 weeks ago. How hard is it to put it in a box and ship it. I paid him money to do that. Instead I get replies like life gets in the way. Well you know I have a wife and 2 kids and when I sell something it goes out the day after I get that payment! I don't let life keep me from my obligations to my fellow member on the board. Now I would like my part and not some excuse that I will see it in a few days which is what I have gotten twice now. If you can't take care of your end of the deal I would like my money back!

Rebuild Thread - 1979 Brat
Subieguy replied to Gyoas759's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
There is a drain plug on the bottom of the gas tank. Just unbolt it and let anything that is in there drain out. If the tank is rusted I can help you with that too. I have 2 extra gas tanks in my storage shed. -

What color interior door panels? I have so much gen 1 Brat stuff laying around I might be able to help. I have Blue and brown door panels. I am not sure if they all came with the lower door panels in black though. I have those. I have 2 or 3 tail gates laying around. Just seems that they would get a little pricey shipping it all the way from the west coast.
