  1. Will I need to make the blocks just for the front cross member only or do I need to make one for the trans cross member too? Richard
  2. Still loooking for a hood that is a little better shape.
  3. This is what my 84 Brat looked like when I found it a year and a half ago. This is what it looks like today. I know it is coming slowly but hey it's coming along.
  4. Ok I will give it a shot. Just would like the front end to stand a little more even with the back height. Richard
  5. Yes I realize that but is there no way to lift the front up without a lift kit?
  6. I would like to raise the front of my 84 Brat up. Can I adjust the front torsion bars at all to even out the stance? If I can what do I have to do to adjust them? Or can I just adjust the struts themselves? Thanks. Richard
  7. Actually it did sell. The guy relisted it and somebody bought it with buy it now.
  8. I got a nice rebuilt motor that would go nicely in that sitting on my engine stand.
  9. Well maybe I will just have to have some center caps made for them. Can't wait to get them on my Brat!
  10. Got Them! Now I just need to find center caps for them. Only one has light curb rash.
  11. The guy wanted $150 for them but he said he would take $100 for them if I came and got them. Guess I will be going to get them some time this week.
  12. I found these for $100.00. They are Enkeis. They are about a hour drive for me. I think they would look great on my 84 Brat. Maybe even get them blasted and powder coated. What do you think? Richard
  13. I found a 88 GL wagon yesterday with only 38,000 miles. Too bad it was at my local junk yard. The car was T-boned bad! The hood was open and I saw the condition of the engine. Looked like brand new. Not all covered in oil like I would expect of a 20 year old motor. Too bad I am not in need of a EA-82 at this time. Don't have any EA-82 cars right now.
  14. When I worked at Kragen Auto parts years ago we sold them. Garbage! Pure garbage! Get some MWE remanufactured axles. I just puut some in my 84 Brat. Great stuff. And he put the stonger EA-82 inboard cups on my EA-81 axles at no extra cost.
  15. Ok My old axles in my 84 Brat were shot. Making all kinds of noises! The passenger side was the worst. Every time you pushed down on the gas pedal the right side would click louder as I accelerated. So this past weekend I replaced both front axles with fresh MWE rebuilds. Thought problem was solved. Wrong! Now the right side does the same thing as before just not nearly as loud as before. I did not replace the wheel bearings. They did not seem to need it. Could a bad wheel bearing be causing this noise? To me it sounds like the axle has a problem. If the bearings need to be replaced no problem. I have a full set sitting here. Any suggestions here would be helpful. Thanks, Richard
  16. Just put a set in my 84 Brat today. They work great and look good too. I will buy for next Subaru that needs them for sure.
  17. http://www.ccrengines.com/id28.html They are your best bet and you will get a top quality rebuilt axle. Richard
  18. The 2 Brats I have owned a 78 and my 84 were both registered as passenger vehicles here in California.
  19. Just did this like 3 weeks ago on my 84 Brat. Everything looked fine after I got the drums off. So I saw no need to do that. Slapped the discs on and down the road I went:popcorn: .
  20. I need to know what vehicle I need to get this 100 amp alternator from. If I remember right it is a GM alt. Just can't remeber what car it would be in. Or maybe a part number for it would work. Also is there anything special I need to do to my Brat when I am putting one in? Thanks, Richard
  21. When I picked this Forester up it was missing the keyless entry remotes. As a matter of fact all I have for it is one key. The previous owner threw away the only remote he had. Said it quit working. Yeah that usually happens when the battery dies!:clap:So my question is what does it look like? I mean I can go on ebay and they sell them but they always have like two different kinds for this car. Does anybody have a picture of the correct keyless entry remote for a 98 Forester? I would like to make sure I buy the right remotes for this car when it actually runs again! Thanks, Richard
