  1. Ok, This is the one that RenaissanceMan was talking about. 76 Wagon, 4wd and in great shape. Little rust around the rear window but nothing serious. It does have the EA-71 in it. This is a factory AC car too! I am buying this one! No doubt about it.
  2. I know it does not need to be hooked up but why have something I don't need. It did not come with one from the factory because it came with a manual tranny.
  3. My 84 Brat is in bad need of a new radiator. Is there any chance I can find a new one that is not set up for a transmission cooler? I sure don't need a tranny cooler. Help! Richard
  4. Ended up doing a compression test today and #1 and #2 not so good. Going to adjust the valves tonight and see if that helps. I have never done it and I highly doubt the previous owner ever did. Otherwise I do believe I could have burnt valves. Engine has just under 185,00 miles on it and it was not taken care of at all be the previous owner.
  5. My Brat was running fine until I drove it home from work today. I was driving down the street and when I stopped at a red light it barely would idle. As the day went on it got to the point where it would stall on me when I stopped. This happened a few months ago but it went away after a day or two. I pulled the vacum line off the distributor to see if it was pulling vacum. Nothing. Checked back at the EGR valve, Nothing! Any thoughts as to what might be wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Richard
  6. Subaru part number is: 772083010. Still available. Just priced it at WWW.1stsubaruparts.com for $36.06 Richard
  7. Part number for brake pedal/clutch pedal pad is: 36015GA111 Part number for the gas pedal pad is: 736015001
  8. I want the Enkeis! Now I just need to come up with the $300.00:banghead: Sure would like to get some extras. They don't come around often. Any trades possible for them? Richard
  9. I need a new engine for my 98 Forester. I found a engine for it. The guy says he thinks it has 1 or 2 bent valves. Is that possible in this engine? Or is it a non interference engine like a EA-82 motor. I am unfamilar with the EJ series engines and I don't know if it is a non interference motor or not. Any help here would be appreciated. Richard
  10. What are you going to do with the rims that are on it now? Are they yours? Love to have those! Richard
  11. Now I need to take all of your knowledge and put it to use so I can make the light I have put in my 84 Brat actually work!
  12. Keep a eye out for them on Ebay. They show up from time to time. That was how I found them for my 78 Brat. Some members have modified EA-81 struts to fit in the front. At least that is what I have heard. Richard
  13. Don't worry. You don't have to wait on parts if you don't want to. I will do my best to take care of what I can for you this weekend!
  14. He needs one for a Gen 1 Brat. Yours is a Gen 2 and will not fit.
  15. I just love the fact that you are doing it right and not cutting corners! Keep it up Steve! Richard
  16. I think this is it. #807606142. Looks like it is still available.
  17. Don't always take their word. Sometimes they don't want to make the effort to look. You would be surprised what is still available. I have a EA-82 parts manual at home. I will check a little later and get back to you. OK? Richard
  18. Yes 78-81 Brat body parts are the same for the front clip only. That is the from the doors back it is different. But they all had the same front clip. 78-81 Brat fenders will fit on your 78 wagon. No problem!
  19. Ok this was my wagon until I sold it about 2 years ago. I got a call from my aunt who now owns the car that it wont start. I drove down today and had a look at it. Found the problem. When you crank it the rotor is not turning in the distributor. So what I am thinking is that it is one of these possible problems: 1. Broken timing belt 2. Broken belt tensioner 3. Bad distributor The Right side timing belt is still turning fine. I did not have all the tools to tear into it at the time to see if there was a problem on the left side of the engine. Car also really looks like it could use some new plugs, wires, cap and, rotor too. So would I be right in my guess about the problem? Richard
  20. 77 to 79 wagons will work and 78-81 Brats will work for parts interchangeability. Here is a link to the axles: http://www.ccrengines.com/mwe/index.html He makes a great rebuild. There are other places that you can get the axles at though. The MWE axles are really well built though.
  21. I need to know what is a good grease to put on the shafts that the caliper slides back and forth on. They were pretty dry when I had them off a little while back and it sounds like the drivers one needs some grease. Just not sure what kind to use. Thanks. Richard
  22. It was listed on craigslist. Lucky I guess:clap:
  23. Yeah I thought I was going to have to get some longer bolts.
  24. That is about what condition this one was in when I found it. Sitting up under trees for 5 years filled full of junk. Hey it was free so no complaints. It needed a starter to get it going again. That was it. I have since replace all the front sheetmetal and the doors are from a 85 hatch so they are built a lttle stronger than the Brat doors. I also had to weld the rear seats back in. They were long gone. I was happy to find the A-bar on Craigslist for it. It is qutie hard to find parts for it around here. There are no EA-81 cars in any of the local wrecking yards. The only real metal work I need to doo is the battery box area. It looks like the battery ruptured and leaked out all over sometime in the past. It is quite rotted out there. I cut out the part I needed out of a 84 GL wagon I had. I just need to get around to fixing it.
