  1. I am getting ready to do some engine work on my 85 GL-10 and one of the things I will be replacing is the oil pump. Just trying to see if anybody knows of a place that has a great deal on one. 1stsubaruparts.com is around $93 and change.
  2. Only rust around the windshield and the rear quarter panels concerns me. Everything else can be easily replaced. Pictures would really help out!
  3. Nice info to have. The 84 Brat I just picked up is missing the seats and I have a full set from a Gen 1 I parted out to put in.
  4. I have got to know where the rust is. That is my only thing. I have so many extra Brat parts I could build probably another whole Brat from them. I just need something that is not all rusty.
  5. Yeah the GL-10 will be going but not until I fix it. When I get my tax return I will be buying the parts needed to fix it. When all the work is done then I will sell it.
  6. No I will go get it with my trailer. The same trailer I have hauled home countless Subies with.
  7. Actually it is a lot closer to you than it is to me. It is in the Santa Cruz area.
  8. I can't go pick it up until Saturday. You know that work thing we have to do.
  9. Ok here is a picture that the guy sent me of it. What do you think. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive but I have driven further for Subies before.
  10. Is there anything to look out for on a gen 2 Brat that I may need to know about. I know about rust in the rear shock towers but that is about it. The only Brats I have ever owned are all gen 1's. The only thing I know is that it does not run. The guy that has it has no idea why it does not run. Any advice or information would be appreciated.
  11. Got mine today! Thanks Paul. It looks great! Can't wait to get it in.
  12. Sorry Paul I am confused. Did you already send me a tracking number? If so I failed to get it. Let me know. Thanks, Richard.
  13. Hey thanks for letting me know what going on Paul. I really appreciate it!
  14. Glad to hear the update. Glad it will be coming soon. Looking forward to being able to drive my Brat in the rain. Right now it is just sitting in the driveway with a tarp over it to keep the water out.
  15. Why not use a factory fuel pump? They work just fine.
  16. I just thought this would be an interesting oportunity to maybe make a nice little project out of this. With parts being hard to find why not try something different? I love the look of this car so I want to get it back on the road eventually.
  17. The EA63 is worn out in the 76 DL. I have 2 EA71 engines sitting around. Could I put the EA71 in hooked up to the 1400 tranny that is already in the car? Also this may sound wild but could I modify this car and put a 4wd Tranny and all the running gear out of a 78 Brat in it? I figure the floor is shot anyway so if I needed to do any modifying now would be the time. I have all the parts to do the conversion if it is possible. Let me know what you think.
  18. I am going to try and ride it out with this 76 DL. I will try to find the parts for it when I can. I have a few leads on parts from other members here, Thanks! I will keep a look for another car with solid floors. This one would make a excellent part car. My main worry is finding all the window gaskets and weatherstripping for it. Hopefully somebody can be found who could make new gakets for us. I think we could get enough people to go in for new weatherstripping too.
  19. Glad to hear it went to a good home and somebody who will take care of it.
  20. No go:mad: . They cancelled my order because they said the part is no longer available. Big surprise. Has anybody checked out this company called Soffseal? Looks like they can make anything for us. They are located in Ohio. Anybody there with a old subie who could swing by and get them to build us some new gaskets and weatherstrips?
  21. I am going to try and order it. I just checked on subaruparts.com and #665002280 shows as still available. #665002240 is no longer available. If it has problems it can still be possibly used as a template to build new ones by another manufacturing company I have go to try.
  22. Yeah I don't know if I feel like driving that far just for another parts car. Think I will let this one slide.
  23. Part #665002280 Shows on the subarugenuineparts site available at $105.30. I can't imagine what condition it would be in after all this time. I know, CRACKED:lol: .
