  1. Does it strike fear into the local hondas with that paint job?? Looks good to me... is that a Gen 1 RS / Gen 2 WRX scoop on there?
  2. There is both a sequence of bolts to do, and 3 levels of torque also. First is like 25 ft lbs I think? second is like 42 and 3rd is like 47... I just did some heads afew days ago, but I dont remember the EXACT numbers off the top of my head. anyone out there have the printout of the head bolt tightening sequence???
  3. Hey Russ doesnt Andrews friend have an almost new turbo for like $50?
  4. Tire size for me: 175 series (technically should be 185's on there, but I got the set for $80 with like 90% tread left) Tranny: Dual range part time 4WD 5 speed 3:90 diff ratio Exhaust: 2.0" to cat 2.25" to muffler inlet 2.5" to atmosphere Stock engine block, only has deleted EGR (and other vacuum crap) and an accel coil and weber 32/36 carb No drag from AC cause I dont have it my 250 pound+ body and all the tools and crap I have in the back will weigh the car down a bit, but I guess I could take out all but the essential tools (air compressor and a small socket set)
  5. I have a rusted out tailgate I would be happy to donate for a pattern (for size) All the holes are in the proper place and stuff. Since I am bobbing the tail and wont be using THAT tailgate anymore, it would be nice to have an air gate for it. Well if the price is right anyway
  6. My weber kit has paid for itsself in the past year just in gas savings... my MPG has gone WAY up after installing it... I have more power too... power was the reason I installed it, the better mileage was just an added bonus.
  7. "Eventually I will start shooting it with my BB gun" That statement didn't make the Soob Gods too happy :madder:
  8. The rims look kinda funny... look at the lighting and resolution on them...
  9. Wanna come to PIR sometime and find out?? My 87 has a weber setup, better coil, and upsized exhaust... I estimate it makes ~95 HP or so (84 stock) since its been opened up so much.
  10. I believe all you need is a voltmeter and an O2 sensor. If the voltage is at a certain level its rich, another level its good, another its lean... dont remember the voltages off the top of my head though.
  11. I belive it is the passenger front door that powers the light. On my 86 I could lock just that door and the light would go off even though all the other doors were unlocked still.
  12. Its the strangest thing... The FWD front end parts we got for Hondasucks had 17MM bolts where the arms attach to the cross member. I checked a 4WD... same 17mm size... neither fit in the 14mm front end of his turbowagon :cornfuzz: So either some XT6's have 14mm front bolts or some EA82's have 17mm front ends.
  13. You reuse them??? They are SOOO cheap I figure its worth changing them out each time. As far as I understand all subarus use the same washer... my 87 GL and my moms 96 OBS use the same washer (but different filters) I belive I pay around 70 cents for my washers.
  14. Ya, what he said is correct.... I prefer 180's personally... any cooler... ummm no... 195's (or whatever shows up as stock... maybe its 190) are ok too, but I prefer to have my car run at 40% between hot and cold rather than 50-55 or so that way I can see its running kinda warm (like it is now) before it REALLY becomes a problem. I prorbably will need a new radiator within afew months, so thats first on the agenda when the Impreza gets sold.
  15. Not bad... now I REALLY want to get my lift installed on my brat
  16. Bad news: I cant bring the brat due to crappy mileage: Good news: I can bring the GL I need to bring down some parts and stuff (I will call you in the morning John just to make sure its ok to bring my parts) I belive Andrew has a BBQ that needs to head up to Jason's. If he could get it down there, I could bring it back up here with me and leave it at Jasons when I get back to Portland. Just an idea.. See everyone tomorrow
  17. My lack of money, the brats crappy mileage, and the fact the 88 NEEDS to be finished = I cant make it down
  18. On my 86 carbed CA version "battlewagon" BajaVWSoobnut and I changed the O2 sensor with a wrench kit from autozone. nothing had to be removed from what I can recall
  19. Is that shift knob actually comfortable??? My brat came with a T bar like that and that was the FIRST thing to go... so awkard... I stuck in the old knob from my 87 GL just to get back to something round. Thats pretty awesome though... looks like an airplane cockpit almost with all those controls and instruments
  20. If my speaker is indeed blown, and it sure sounds like it... I'll take it even though I am broke. I can cash in my change jar or something
  21. Speaking of which... you still need that screw for the bracketry??
  22. As far as I could tell my car was on its original cable... 271,500 miles (approx) and 16 years of abuse... not a bad life.... especially considering the car sees a couple of high RPM launches a month
  23. Got a speaker to replace my blown passenger dash one with??? Only being able to have the radio at 25% of its max volume or so makes for a boring drive in the Brat
