  1. i should have that i'll look tomorrow. increased cooling is better done with a larger raditor. It is not so much air flow vs surface area.
  2. After all the TLC the Justy decided the fuel pump had to go. I was shopping them around and sheesh, part prices were from 59.00 to 209.00 Has anyone else replaced theirs with a off brand (that looks OE) and had any issues?
  3. Once you start off from a start, it is just like a manual tgranny in a car, match teh RPM and the tranny deosnt care. Chains stretch and will brake over time. I used to replace mine at every 20K with the rear sprocket.
  4. If i remeber correctly these have a rotation sensor on the front of the compressor/clutch. If this sesnor fails the AC will not turn on. You can look there as it is generally a simple system. Have you jumped the pressure switches to confirm they are not the problem?
  5. Does cursing him to hell count? Put the interior back together, cleaned him up, got the papaerwork for the tags, went to start the Justy and it wouldnt start. i think it is that stupid 23yo fuel pump. If it cant last half a century whats the good in making it in the first place!
  6. Next time it happens try rocking the car back and forth and see if it will come out of gear.
  7. It may just be a coincedence. Have you tried engaging it from under the car? Have you inspected the linkage and the bushings?
  8. Remove the old switch and see what happens.
  9. You have a weigh station nearby?
  10. Just because someone has seen someone else tow a heavy trailer with a smaller car doesnt mean it hasnt started off with "Here hold my beer ...."
  11. The highest sealing force on a gasket is at the edge of the gasket. I can only guess that this has something to do with it but it is just a guess.
  12. how much is the car rated to tow
  13. Is there even a hitch available for the car?
  14. I'm not seeing how this is fatal, unless it is just the camera angle. To me anything but a tree (or something like that) or rust is fixable
  15. The one truly nice thing about tranny lines is that they are are easy to repair. They are one of the few things that are still fixable with duct tape and bubblegum (some hose and clamps).
  16. Twosleft rear wheel well and one dead center on the roof at the windsheild. Cars since 95 dont really rot here as long as they see a car wash twice a year.
  17. You will see that on gaskets at times, it is not a biggie.
  18. Tounge weight is easy, use a bathroom scale and for a boat it should read on a scale. The boat should have a weight tag hopefully someplace or ask a boatyard, same for the trailer.
  19. Blu has almost 300K on him. Nothing you have listed does not go under normal maint, though i would suspect an O2 sensor and not the cat. For 1500.00 where can you get a replacement car that you know that will not require another 1500.00 in repairs. Invest the money. When you hit 500K we will disguss putting her down
  20. 135,000 miles is not premature by any standard for rubber hoses, especially hoses athat are in less then an idea location. Metal lines do fail, again because of enviormental conditions. And there is always, stuff breaks.
  21. Whale intestines with an ulcer.
  22. i will file this in my mind. Used compressor is much better for the wallet then new. i would price new vs used and a new clutch.
