The problem is the two ears on the black box ontop of the throttle body. Tchnically i can keep the factory air filter, i just need to rid myself of the big box, get the air to that part of the engine, with something with a 90 degree bend in it. nipper -

Its long enough, its the airbox on top of the engine that is the issue. It does not sit flat anymore. nipper -

With the lift kit the stock airbox no longer bolts where it is supposed too. I only took a quick look at the car, but I do agree it cant stay that way for very long. Trust me im an engineer, i know the stock system is fine, but the car is not at stock height anymore. The problem is the airbox over the engine. nipper -
Ok Blu needs a modified air intake. I dont buy into a lot of the mumbo jumbo on the after market systems ( being an automotive engineer alot of it is bunk). I am seeing prices from 5.00 - 250.00. The only thing I have read so far and agree with is if I get one off ebay, is to throw out the filter that comes with it and get a real (non chineese) filter. My questions: What is the difference between a K and N unit (or some other name brand) then ebay? Are the non-oil filters available ANy recomnedations? nipper

Not quite http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question331.htm http://www.howstuffworks.com/framed.htm?parent=question331.htm&url=http://www.razorperformance.com/info.htm http://www.moroso.com/articles/articledisplay3.asp?article=AboutOilPans.html it is also for hard cornering, as it is hard to maintain a constant oil pressure, as the oil moves around the crankcase in corners. Cooling is just an extra advantage, like remote oil filters etc. nipper

i just went to see Blu today. The shop is closed, but Blu is parked on the street. This was the first time i got to see Blu on my own (should have popped the hood). I bounced the car, i like the firmness of the new struts. The BIGGest reason for doing this, worked out better then i thought. My back. If i sit below my knees, i have a hell of a time getting out of a seat after a few hours. NOw with the extra height, my legs are at 90 degrees at my knees, so i can actually get out of the car easily. They are car guys. They are good people. nipper

At that mileage it will not be the radiator (unless it leaks). There are three possabilities. One is a bad Tstat. Another is a bad radiator cap, the third is a HG. Is this a dual cam or single cam engine. Id its dual, internal HG, if its single, the HG usually fails with an external leak and wont cause overheating. Look at the condition of the fluid in the overflow. Start the car with the Rad cap off and watch for bubbles. With the T stat gone this would be an easy and quick test. See if the car has heat. Ask the seller if he had any work done to the car recently. How much is he asking? nipper
