  1. This is an automatic. Put the fwd fuse in the fuse holder, see if the problem goes away. Check all the tires to make sure they are equally inflated. When exaclty do you get the clunk, and i mean exaclty, speed rpm diretion of the car. Do you get the clunk going from drive to reverse? nipper
  2. it may look like it shares a block, but to be a diesel there is so much beefing up that is needed it needs its own sepcific block nipper
  3. 1 - The subaru is biased to the front of the car. The rear wheel drive on the manual comes in when there is a differnce between the front and rear axle speed. The fact that the rear wheel was spinning indicates it was working, and that you were good and stuck (see previous comment on open diffs). In the manual unless you brake something the failure mode is the the AWD system fuses (automatic is a differnt story). 2 - Double check the code. Like said before front o2 sensor usually fixes the problem and should be OE. 3 - Its possible you broke a sway bar, blew a strut, or the busings quit. Also check to make sure that the rack is tight. nipper
  4. I'm not sure what you are saying. Is your no start condition meaning you have no crank? If the car is not fully in park the engine will not crank, try neutral instead? 505 is the idle air motor. a bad or non responsive IAC should not keep the car from starting. I'm not sure what you are calling the accumilator. Usually an older cars shifter is easier due to slop in the cable linkage. I bet your cable is bad. And i dont quite understand the last line, do you mean the gear shift release button? nipper
  5. I'm jelouse about the Scrambler, though it seems like chrysler is slowly bringing them back inch by inch. Welcome. My car is named Blu nipper
  6. Differential howel is a very unique sound. Its a roar that has a volume that increases with road speed. Its rare for a diff to go bad but it happens. Have you drained the diff to see if there is any metal in the lubricant? nipper
  7. The coil towers can get hairline cracks and throw the misfire code. As grossgary has said, they really need to be OE wires. nipper
  8. I was sitting at a red light in NJ and the kid behind me didnt see me nor the redlight. I got hit at 50 mph Herniated my L4-5 disc. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=932 Twisted the entire car. nipper
  9. i googled it and saw nothing bad about at them at all, so it should be fine. nipper
  10. i got 4200 for my 98 legacy L. Recooperation is still going on. My hips are staying in place (enough so that the chiro only sees me once or twice a week) finally thats a HUGE thing. Still in pain, have sadly perm injuries. I am pigheaded so i will do my best to adjust to them and learn to live with them. Sadly I have applied for SSI disabilty (lawyer says he thinks i got it), and my car insurance company is jerking me around by not sending loss of income checks. The personal injury lawsuit is starting to windup, but sadly not alot of money there to be had. nipper
  11. goes away when the car warms up or the suspension warms up. My 97 OBW does it in the rear sometimes, and i know i have a bad strut back there. nipper
  12. The buzzing heat sheild is miles away as far as the knock sensor is concerned. You should have no problem. nipper
  13. Go to the dealer with your title and reggi, and they will make you TWO keys. nipper
  14. Look at the coolant temp sensor, and teh TPS sensor for a dead spot. Next time it happens let us know if you have spark. nipper
  15. in all honesty i don't remember, its been a while ....... anyone?
  16. See if you can get one from a junkyard, it doesnt have to work. Take it apart and see how it works, then decide if you can tackle the problem. And i agree about the tpae on the CEL, it can do more harm then good. nipper
  17. Click on the link, its all descirbed in there, the design and inception of the car. nipper
  18. HETHAN!!!! BE BANNED TO THE PLYMOUTH LIST! (hehehehehe) nipper
  19. I found this on the net, sorry if you have dailup it will be very painful. It's a bit annoying, but its Road and Track's analysis of the SVX. http://www.svx-iw.com/svxiw/road_track/ makes me want to go out and get one. nipper
  20. i looked through 20 pages of posts anf found only three people with the switch. Two of witch. had failed awd systems (ill look more as i get bored). i find it interesting only three people have the switch on the list (i searched under "switch") Andyjo was one, but couldnt tell which came first the chicken or the egg. I'm at the point where i dont care anymore. I just want people to know that if they screw up its a 1000.00 repair. I may put this on my "topics i dont respond to list" along with "synthetic oil" as they seem to get hostile after a while. nipper
