  1. its the flux generation thing or your flux capacitor is acting up nipper
  2. how is that odd ..... thats where harbor freight stuff comes from anyway nipper
  3. or hit road debree, now that we know it all happened at once. Total loss of VSS sensors make the car drive really weird. nipper
  4. see ive never had a problem with stop leak, as long as you use it the right way, Put the stuff in the tire and drive the car for a couple of miles to evenly spread it out. I think if you fix the ar youll end up keeping it, so fix it and keep it nipper
  5. I see nothing wrong with this car aside from low mileage 1-replace the seals with the timing belt (and waterpump) when you do this is up to you. The interval is 105,000 miles. Whnever you do it it will be good for another 100,000 miles 2-This can happen to any car at any time. 3-I think the wheels can be fixed, but usually a can of stop leak will correct this situation. 4-Depends upon the how the car is driven. It can be 60,000 miles it can be in excess of 140,000 miles. 5-Have an autzone pull the code for free before any more movement on this issue. why replace a HG on a car that doesnt need one, thats foolish. Valve cover gskets are probably just lose bolts. Dont rebuild the caliper replace it, its easier. Low mileage cars will ned work, sometimes more wirk then high mileage cars since they arent driven as much. Fix the car and keep it. Intrest rates are going up, and then there is that new car insurance thing. nipper
  6. take the carrier bearing too if there is one. nipper
  7. tis ok, sounds like there may be moisture in the system. What does your site glass look like, and what is the temp at the ac vents. nipper
  8. why do i get this feeling your tool box holds a hammer, vice grips a few srewdrivers a saw and a hot glue gun nipper
  9. heheheh like i said, unless a subaru is a wrx , says turbo, or is the only car parked on the block, your fairly safe. And think about this, if they have master keys, what makes you think they dont have a code scanner. Japanese cars are pretty good about key combinations. Now if it was a american mfg then i would worry. My freinds and i had chrysler products, out of 7 mopars in a 8 year spread, four keys would start each others cars, two keys would open the doors. nipper
  10. Ok the a/c system, unless your using the compressor leave it alone, Just swing the compressor out of the way. SInce i have an Federal AC license i cannot tell you anything else (doesnt mean no one else can't). WHat ever you do choose to do wear work gloves and goggles, do it someplace with ventilation, as accidents do happen while handling AC systems. Fuel system, ive never really had a problem with pressure in the system when its on a non running car. You have the bigest threat a non issue, a hot exhaust system and engine. You dissconnect it at the fuel filter and you should de pressurize it, as there are no check valves in the system Your going to get a minimal amount of fule out that is pressurized. What prep work are you going to do to the engine before installing it. nipper
  11. i agree tps may have a short or open when hot in it. get one or three from a yard, as they are really pricey. You can test it, but i think on the bench its going to test fine, as its a hot failure nipper
  12. that looks great. i always thought the wipers made more snse on sedans the wagons. nipper
  13. bench test the solenoids with 12 volts, use an ohm meter to make sure they arent shorted or open, or if they are in an easy place to change on the car just swap them, but first at least check with a meter nipper
  14. its an honest to goodness explosive that is set off with an electrical charge. nipper
  15. eeek you went to the dealer, thats got to hurt. You nedd several parts then, and i would need to see a schemtaic to tell you what. Would be easier to go to a yard (and much much cheaper) to get one. nipper
  16. the only FTW i know is F*** the world. A come-along is a ratcheting winch that is rated for a few 1000 lbs or more. Its a wonderful thing YOu need the air bag and the sensors. the sensors are made for a single use only. They destruct upon impact, so the ABS light will always be on even if you just change the bag. nipper
  17. Damn there is a bunch of these. Its the ignitor, it can drive you madd. nipper
  18. i could have sworn i answered one just like this before. Its a screw that adjusts the pulley. The screw is porbably frozen where it goes through the pulley Its easier to get the entire part then just the screw off another car, since it is obviously frozen. nipper
  19. I think in every state you can get a ticket for driving with a broken spedometer. There are these bizzare things called speed limits. They are there for a reason so im told. Something called saftey. Without a spedo you cant safely tell your speed, especially when the usuall limit has been reduced. Then there is the other side, you cant tell when the car is maxed nipper
  20. its one of the air door motors that are making the noise. Its cycling cause it cant tell where it is. nipper
