Rarest Old-School Subaru Part or Option?
Is that Height button for the hydraulic suspension we didn't get here in the states? It would be nice to see the flip up lights on the ea82!

Anyone in the Vancouver WA area able to look this for me?
They have started to use salt up here. I know they do all the time in seattle proper and not so much in other places. It still doesn't snow that much, but we have an a$$ ton of traffic.

To Pull Head or not to Pull Head.
Try mcmaster-carr. You can call them too. They will have a comparable or best available product.

CV Joints or Suspension? Weird Noise
Hmm, Mine does the same, not my wagon though. I dont remember the washer spacer on my brats strut tops. I wonder if at some point in the past some shop has repeatedly lost all these washers. I have a tendency to think Gloyale is right. If it had it, I would put it back in order. If someone forgot it I might not know its gone. What are the failure issues with out said washer, Gloyale? Just a klunk? My 82 wagon did that only with very slow speed braking for a bit, but, it was from the 81-82 only brake caliper, needing a special bushing washer, so that's not related.

To Pull Head or not to Pull Head.
Since your down there....What about the crack that happens between the exhaust ports when the engine overheats? You know, pull the exhaust and look up inside the head and that spot right in the middle that is kind of an ea82 weak spot, maybe with some spray cleaner and a rag so you can see the crack better. I'd just go with american standard thread pitch if you have a tap for it, save the helicoils for later. Does the motor drip wet exhaust spray?

I just had a crazy idea..
If you can mill the rear diff for an output pinion, I want one! I've been dying to make Suboataru!

'87 GL w/ Weber fouling plugs, low comp. Big problems?
To me it sounds like your piston rings might be pretty fouled and sticking if its all that even of a horrible compression test. Look for bubbles in the radiator and coolant bottle and any milkshake like oil for a headgasket. Fix your vacuum leak and adjust that carb! If you can get a cheap fuel air mixture meter hooked up it will help a bit. Seafoam in the pistons or marvel mystery oil to try to clean up the rings. The seafoam in the gas might not be enough to free the rings. You can run it 50 mi. or so using atf as oil and that might help ...after you know the vac leaks and carb are tuned right.... but I wouldn't go much farther. That sounds like its been run cold and rich for way to long. So you might have to clean the pcv really well, I've seen them clogged shut. Once you know its in proper tune, get it on the highway for a real good drive to heat up that motor for a bit, (not overheating it either..lol) it should clean itself out with a bit of seafoam in the gas and running at proper temp. You can run seafoam in the oil too as an oil detergent (though its more of a solvent). Go to redlineweber.com for your carb manual and tuning and make sure your float is in proper specs. I've never bought a new one that was in spec. It sounds like you're on the right track with your jets. Check diligently for leaks and any weird hissing noise cuz that will throw off the whole tune.

Had to get towed today
Its the brown box above the hood pull in and ea81, I think its in the same spot for an ea82...(Gosh, its been a while for me on an ea82!)

Fiberglass Accessories and Reproductions
How bout an ea81 coupe or sedan rear spoiler? If you did fender flares like ea81 wagon rear mud flaps with the accessory upper molding piece, you could make them with the flaps that match, front and rear! I'd be down for a set for my brat!!

How do you like the fit of the dash mat?

HVAC Selector Dysfunction
The "cables" that the selector switch move are a push style. They crack and slip out of the housing making it very difficult to move the flapper doors. I would check them first. Maybe you can repair them with a sleeve if they arent too gone. Some lube in the housings might help too.

Is this a 2ND Gen BRAT rear slider?
I thought there were a few different styles of rear sliders through out the years. Its been a topic here before. Been a while.

Oh I wish I didn't have to work yesterday... Looks like ya'll had fun!

random 4wd engage
If its a D/R then I would suspect the little button by the hand lever coming loose or really bad trans and engine mounts, no engine stabilizer bar on the top of the motor (whatever that's called ...slipping my mind) and/or maybe combined with your trans and motor separating.

List of rims that can be used on older Subarus...
Nice rims Ferp! Are they 4 x 100 and 4 x 114.5(?)? Ask and you shall receive, but you got to put up and shut up to hear the answer. It sounds like I hear some whiny kid here who's a know it all. Thats a shame. I wish I knew it all some days but boy... I bet it would get old quick with out something new to learn! I look over some of my old posts and think "Is that me talking?"! Yo'J

FINALLY got a replacement 5spd d/r. Couple questions
I'm sure this isnt it, but if the trans you got had a damaged input shaft then it might not let the pp travel away from the flywheel and be sticking. By bolting it on it gave it enough pressure to hold. You greased it up a bit right? I'm doubting that though but metal is strange.... like over cleaned stainless nuts and bolts fusing together while trying to tighten them. Oh, and thank you! Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!

84 Subaru gl aftermarket help plzzz
Hey Douche, dont get pissed. This is the best forum on cars out there. Try the flame wars on a ford or chevy forum or the piss on your neighbor hoonda sites. There is too little time in the day (all of us) to be pissing off anyone and driving anyone away. We all have something to give. Yo'J here.

84 Subaru gl aftermarket help plzzz
Back to air bags... are you going for "cool looks" or are you gonna rat rod this thing? Its too light and too flexible of a frame to race really, to crawl around on the rocks, that flexibility is nice. Air suspension is the only way to achieve your custom tune-able suspension. Of course the parts arent cheap. But Universal air aereosport for the front $189 each And for the rear ....being 2wd, you can weld a mount and a swing arm to the torsion bar and mount these.. rear bags from sdtrucksprings #1s6-055 goodyear sleeve bag at $32 each. Get a power window console for your model car to use for the stock looking switches to go cheap or a modern controller setup for a few grand and bounce your car from your phone, some Asco air valves ( $25-$35 each times 8) and the air tank for a semi brake fits perfect by the gas tank. Oh the a/c pump or the separate air pump and gauges and your in. You would be done for just about a grand minus metal and tubing. You make the perches for the front and shim to your desired tune and ride height and for the back you do the same but with limiting straps. Done. Thats for a 2wd. You want air struts in the back (or are 4wd)? Look up the prices$$$$ they are easy to find or make a top perch for and the bottom is simple enough but the strut will have to be picked for your tune already and for the price .... a grand plus each...that's limiting.
