  1. yeah i had a lambda gas control system on it,worked real good as well
  2. its just had a thought that thats maybe what killed my 'charged motor as i wasn't long after i upped the amount of water going into it that it spat the dummy
  3. Does anyone know if water injection will mess with the readings from a exhaust o2 senser? would hate pistons to go all melty cos it leans out or for it to start playing flamethrower cos the o2 senser reads the oxygen in the steam and richens to compensate
  4. don't think it will go without cutting frame rails as a ea81 is pretty tight in a ea71 brat
  5. how many feet of pipe did you have hanging off the end of it?...seriously though don't mess around trying to fix it,save your lunch money and get a replacement (and a breaker bar!!!)
  6. he got some HG material and cut out a gasket himself i do remember the gasket material had wire mesh reinforcing
  7. its not as great as you'd think, much more fun to feed oil into the intake:burnout:
  8. some of the last kombi's to come to NZ and Australia had the porche 2L flat 4 installed in them as factory, they gave the Ford and Holden V8's a run for their money, especially on gravel 'Rallyvan!!!'
  9. it works on a race fiat 1500cc alloy blocks one of our clients at work come and got some 0.6mm stainless mig wire to use for his block which was being machined for it at the time,it worked perfectly and he hasn't had a problem with blown HG's for 2 years now 1500cc fiat 14.5CR N/A
  10. where do i get seals and a pump, my friend owns a parts plus and he cant find them in his catalog. www.1stsubaruparts.com they have all sorts of good kit at some realistic prices
  11. sounds like its gonna be a whole load of fun, what clutch setup are you running?
  12. so long as your pipe isn't rusted and too thin it will weld fine, if it was me doing it i'd tack it with the mig then drop it out and gas weld it as the gas weld also aneals it so its less likely to crack later on.
  13. go LPG if you can, it makes setup so much simpler ,no ECU and no changing distributor although depending on how you setting it up you might need a boost capable vacume advance unit to fit on the distributor, they are not hard to get hold off
  14. cool i don't need knock control so i'll go find a JY carby dis'
  15. does the ea82 distributor swap onto a ea82t in place of the distrubtor/crank angle sensor? im putting N/A carb pistons in a turbo motor thats going in a brat and don't really want to have to wire up a computer fuel control is already taken care of
  16. i know of one that has been done on a ea82t but the guy that did it said that it required some seriously bogus engineering to get it all to work. you'd probibly be better to get a stronger er27 clutch and disc
  17. i would rather like to know as im leaveing in about an hour to drive 150 miles to pickup a EJ-unknown at this stage, if its a ej18 or ej20 n/a then i could probibly get away with the clutch i've got now (ea81) and a grippier clutch disc however if it is turbo ej20 or an ej22 i think im gonna need some more bite but hey the ej donk is free so im not complaining
  18. is there any difference between the clutchs from a N/A ea82 and a ea82turbo?
  19. it was driving a mates gen1 brumby in deep snow that made me a subaru convert
  20. there are quite a few tt legacys here and we drive RHD cars, most jap cars are designed RHD then any changes are made when the manufacturer decides to export that model to usa or europe as for the power of twin turbo subaru's, in stock form power is about the same but the TT engines come on boost quicker i.e faster spool up but the end result is the same
  21. have a look for austrailian sites that deal with liberty/legacy's there are a fair number of 'sacked out' liberty's in oz
  22. i've seen one twin turbo wrx here, it was a '97 "Gravel Express" wagon version its the only tt 'rex i've seen and there are lots of WRX's here so they can't be that common
  23. LPG won't run though a petrol type injector and will run trough a LPG dedicated carb and i have one btw a 'US' gallon of gasoline here costs $3 'US' equivilant LPG costs about $1 US per gallon
  24. is it single or twin turbo? they may mean 'tt' i.e, twin turbo twin turbo ej20tt's are fairly common here, tho' i haven't heard much on them from the 'states if it is a twin turbo then your looking at 280hp/208Kw if its from a WRX
