cut the front springs some..... about an inch or two.... i would think that should fix your problem....... -
if you get a bumper for an 05 outback, it should just bolt right on without problems......... should.

1100cc motorcycle engine and tranny in a justy?
offroadsubaruguy replied to offroadsubaruguy's topic in Subaru Transplants
the main idea behind this thougth is less weight, more power... thats basically it. i had actually thought of doing the mid rear idea, but then figured i might want the rear seat still..... all in all it would be pretty simple to do ... i just need the car and the motor and i could do it.... till then, its just a thought. -
just wondering if anyone has thought of this...... i think it would be awesome. all you need is a 4wd four door justy with a bad motor and trans.... find a motorcycle with an 1100 and a tranny with a driveshaft instead of a belt or chain drive.....remove the motor and trans from the justy, drop in motorcycle motor and trans, connect the driveshaft to the rear diff and there you have it! instant power gains and weight loss so you would have better power to weight ratio, plus you now have a motor that turns around 14,000 rpms!!! if you wish, add a turbo and you have one smoking justy......:brow: the only issue i could see with this is the emissions.. how would it work? motorcycles ony do emissions once, and thats it, cars on the other hand at least once every two years..... anyweay, it was just a thought.... let me know what you guys think....

offroadsubaruguy replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
unfortunately for us in the states, we never got an ej18 carbed..... so those parts are really hard to find...... -
i have 98 outback struts on my 90 legacy wagon and i gained roughly 1.5 inches... it did stiffen up the ride some, but not a whole lot...... i say go for it... its an easy swap. you do need to use the legacy springs and tops though.... or redrill the holes for the rears to mount up....

Has anyone used an EJ series engine with a RWD trans?
offroadsubaruguy replied to hankosolder2's topic in Subaru Transplants
i had heard some years back about a company that was in australia that made a bell housing to fit a subaru block, but mated to a nissan 240z tranny..... i really wish i could remember who it was, cause i always wanted to make the rx a rear drive with an ej motor without having to frankenstien the center diff..... -
you could also try some forester struts... keep the lowering springs, and the original strut tops, ad some foerester struts, and you are now only apporx. 1/2 inch lower than stock....... that way you keep your stiffer springs, and gain some clearance...... thats what i would do anyway.....

more power = :brow: less power = i would take a 3.0 or a 3.3 over the 2.2 any day.....

do an intake, a borla header with a cat delete pipe and a catless mid pipe with a high flow muffler. then add a msd ignition to it, port and polish the heads, and get a light weight flywheel. anything is possible, it just depends on how much money you are willing to spend....... if you do the exhaust, i suggest that you keep the stock parts for emissions.....
