  1. i would be all about using a 360...... except for the fact that i cant find one that doesnt run in the area..... heck, the only ones i can find are in new york, kinda far to go for a car....:-\:-\:-\
  2. im looking at upgrading my rotors to something better, but not bigger.. the only prob is that everything im finding that isnt a "stock" replacement is for 95 and newer. so here is the q... can i use 95+ legacy rotors on a 90 legacy without running into problems with fitment????
  3. cut the front springs some..... about an inch or two.... i would think that should fix your problem.......
  4. if you get a bumper for an 05 outback, it should just bolt right on without problems......... should.
  5. motorcycle engine + roots type supercharger = massive torque!!!:brow:
  6. more info about the car would be good here......
  7. the main idea behind this thougth is less weight, more power... thats basically it. i had actually thought of doing the mid rear idea, but then figured i might want the rear seat still..... all in all it would be pretty simple to do ... i just need the car and the motor and i could do it.... till then, its just a thought.
  8. i hate to be a kill joy here, but shouldnt this thread be in the off topic forum since it has nothing to do with a subaru?
  9. just wondering if anyone has thought of this...... i think it would be awesome. all you need is a 4wd four door justy with a bad motor and trans.... find a motorcycle with an 1100 and a tranny with a driveshaft instead of a belt or chain drive.....remove the motor and trans from the justy, drop in motorcycle motor and trans, connect the driveshaft to the rear diff and there you have it! instant power gains and weight loss so you would have better power to weight ratio, plus you now have a motor that turns around 14,000 rpms!!! if you wish, add a turbo and you have one smoking justy......:brow: the only issue i could see with this is the emissions.. how would it work? motorcycles ony do emissions once, and thats it, cars on the other hand at least once every two years..... anyweay, it was just a thought.... let me know what you guys think....
  10. does allied armament still sell the legacy lift??? i just visited their website and its all about guns...... i really want to lift my wagon, but i cant find what im looking for........
  11. we didnt get the first ones, but we have some now...... our 80's rabbit had a deisel in it, but no turbo..... talk about a turd bucket.
  12. all the early legacies ive seen had 4.11 gears, except for the fwd.... but i could be wrong....
  13. i dont think that we should call anything pre 2000 old school, but it wouldnt hurt to see about getting a new forum for anything 2000 and up... just to keep things more organized. just a thought....
  14. unfortunately for us in the states, we never got an ej18 carbed..... so those parts are really hard to find......
  15. i have 98 outback struts on my 90 legacy wagon and i gained roughly 1.5 inches... it did stiffen up the ride some, but not a whole lot...... i say go for it... its an easy swap. you do need to use the legacy springs and tops though.... or redrill the holes for the rears to mount up....
  16. i had heard some years back about a company that was in australia that made a bell housing to fit a subaru block, but mated to a nissan 240z tranny..... i really wish i could remember who it was, cause i always wanted to make the rx a rear drive with an ej motor without having to frankenstien the center diff.....
  17. you could also try some forester struts... keep the lowering springs, and the original strut tops, ad some foerester struts, and you are now only apporx. 1/2 inch lower than stock....... that way you keep your stiffer springs, and gain some clearance...... thats what i would do anyway.....
  18. more power = :brow: less power = i would take a 3.0 or a 3.3 over the 2.2 any day.....
  19. its either a 17mm or a 19mm, just put some vice grips on the outside, dont use a socket wrench, then put a 5mm allen wrench through the hole into the strut shaft to keep it from moving...... its a very easy thing to do.... it might take a bit of muscle, but its not hard.
  20. if you have a 98 you should be able to use the parts for the newer legacys unless its from 03 on. impreza parts might work, but i would double check first....
  21. im just too much sube at heart, plus i like the way the flat 6ers sound......:brow:
  22. do the early legacys and early imprezas share the same strut top in the rear??? just wondering because im looking to run some springs from a forester, and wanted to know if they would work on my 90 legacy before i got them.... thanks
  23. jsut cause i like the old toyotas. anyone ever thought of doing this? i think it could be done relatively easy.......... just want some opinions.....
  24. do an intake, a borla header with a cat delete pipe and a catless mid pipe with a high flow muffler. then add a msd ignition to it, port and polish the heads, and get a light weight flywheel. anything is possible, it just depends on how much money you are willing to spend....... if you do the exhaust, i suggest that you keep the stock parts for emissions.....
