got a little more done, been workin on the transfercase mount , I picked up another front driveline which I will use for the rear, so I had no drivelinesto made up :banana:, just using Nissan 720 pickup parts with a soobie engine and body been a cheep build so far,

Outback tire to strut clearance advice wanted
I set up a car once thought I had plenty of space drove the car into town looks under and part of the tire was wore off just in one spot, got looking closing and found out I had a bent rim , which gave it good clerence half way round then rubbed in one spot , I put a few washers behind the rim and drove it home, those tires were 235/75-15s on stock steel wheels

for sure "Does a lift add any ground clearance or is it just to allow for the fitment of larger tires?" yes under the body, and my kits give a extra 1" under the suspension plus your tire difference
