Bitter Cold
temp up then down, sounds like the Thermostat sticky, then it releases, I prefer the best thermostat when it comes to a Subaru

Some Hatch progress
I put turnimg breaks on my first red subaru, dont know if it ever helped the locked rearend is way better, if I did it again I would get the smallest cylinders and rework the linkage to get more leverage to stop that spinning tire ,as the time you want to lock the tire is when its spinning with all the power going threw it, also I would use discs on the rear to help also, it was a novel item to have,

all this talk of what works what doesnt its all from a good source, but driving technique is a big part of if you break or not , all the stuff I have broke could have been prevented if the driver (me) had driven differently Ive bent radius rods, destroyed a clutch ,broke a stub shaft on a rock smacking it, lost reverse ,all because of how I drove, Ive watched many videos of machines offroad breaking all sorts of parts and its usually the drivers technique or a systen set up improperly like overextending a cv

my tiny :) evolution pics
I like it good Job :headbang:It nice to see some creativity  I think you will too' after i cut the back off my wagon the front end tends to stay on the ground more and with the welded diff you will have more traction as the rear will rock from tire to tire , with the lighter weight that ea81 and a weber will be just fine , lets see some offroad pics

The Best Lift Kit
The best one would be the one that ends on your own car, all the lifts I have seen are comparable, on the rear I used to supply 4 seperate blocks now I have 2 which give more diaganal support, also on the rear diff I use a plate that drops just the diff where others drop the Mustache bar pictured is a 4" EA81 lift from my site www.sjrlift.com
