  1. thanks Connie i used 96 outback set in the front with 60k miles on them and then rears were from a 98, but the struts were replaced with with KYB ones... they only have approx 30k miles on them. fronts were $60 and the rears were $90
  2. actually where we all meet is at the circle of rt70 and rt206 at the red lion diner... also the other place we get together is at the rangers station in atsion, south of the circle on 206, look at the google maps and do a search for atsion, NJ, thats where the rangers station is right by quaker bridge rd
  3. yup it is it just the way the pic was taken i'll get more pics tomorrow there is a difference, specially when u go in and out of the car.. and when you are next to a regular car too lol plus my tires are 195 60s once i get the new tires i should have alot more clearance
  4. that wagon is just amazing keep in touch.. i wanna go to the barrens soon.. there is a few spots there we all AWDs can have lots of fun
  5. yup i'm itching to go down there now that i have the outback struts on  whos up for it?
  6. yeah but i'm having visual problems, the rear wheel well seems to have less space than the front ones, which makes it look like it is saging... hmmm springs spacers on the way!
  7. with the outback struts swap... did it all in under 2 hrs :-p here are the pics http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=1113 next will be tires... i need tires!!! the old struts and springs are for sale here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84991
  8. dont touch it!!! it is the self destructing button! they may have changed the bumper cover and not putting new fogs in after a fender bender or something it is very easy just look under the hood, all the whiring should still be there, just bypass the relay and connect it to the switch with an inline fuse
  9. sluuuurrrrrpp, i almost got the same color and year when i was in the market for one :slobber:
  10. speedometer is fairly easy to fix if it is just the VSS2 that is bad, i will take ya 5 mnts to change that... e brake is minimal... and cracked windshield can be repaired... so if u can offer 1200, i thnk is a deal... make sure it is a AWD, if thats what you are looking for
  11. yeah at 40 or 45 it will def. down shift to 3rd and if there is an incline or so at 40 it will even downshift to 2nd... i dont think there is anything worng with your tranny... but change the fluid and put some lucas trans fix in it just in case... i doubt at 83k miles the tranny is toast... let us know what happens
  12. if it is an L or 30th anniversary edition, it is definetely a 2.2 as far as the tranny, hmmm if you are under 40mph that will def happen but not at 60 or 65
  13. fuel pressure regulator... was replaced, but that really sounds like it is a fuel presure regulator problem, then again may be loosing pressure somewhere
  14. i had the same problem with a 2.2 once.. it turned out to be the cam sensor... somehow when the sensor is old, it gets very sensitive to humidity
  15. yeah offer him $150! well go down to 200 and meet in the middle 250 maf sensor, O2 sensor, plugs, wires, filters will need to be changed... clean AIC valve and throatle body, all this can be done in less than a day. oh one more little annoying thing... knock sensor! also check the fuel pump.. i just got a used one from the JY for 5 bucks.. so they are cheap remember this: the 2.2Ts are NOT gas savers, at the best you'll get 20 mpg at worse you'll get 12-14mpg
  16. ok so its time to revive this thread... i worked on the steering wheel today.. and it worked!!! well i wen to home depot and got the Loctite Super Glue Professional Bottle, its a 0.7oz bottle with a long tip, just like the classic Krazy glue tip. so on the back of your steering wheel at 10 and 2 oclock, you'll find some holes, get a small screw driver and just stick in there till you feel the metal of the steering wheel, sorta make the hole loose a little then stick the tip of the glue as far as you can in a angle towards where the problem is.. squeeze some glue in there, turn the steering wheel towards the problems and leave there for a few mnts (5 mnts for me)... so if your steering wheel is loose on top and you start doing it on the right, turn your steering wheel to the left in order for the glue to run off to the center... do the same to the other side. You may have to make a hole in the center part if your foam cushion is too loose, i had to. Be careful no to put too much glue as it will squirt all over as you are pressing the steering wheel on those 5 mnts wait.. i just hope this helps our problem... my steering wheel is as solid as new now  cheers Neo
  17. yeah the WRX sti vid, i think those 360s was possible because of the LSD
  18. thanks thats exactly what i am looking for now lets see some homemade ones!
  19. ... does anyone know where i can get this? part number is 499207100 i checked all the sites and it is not available do u guys have a picture of a homemade one? thanks
  20. it definetely sounds like a clutch pack, the prices can run from $400 used installed up to $1000 new clutch packs installed, remember that the dealer does not offer the original parts number anymore, instead, they have a new set for the clucth pack job, it runs somewhere around 600 bucks... i just had this done to my legacy, luckily i had a good subaru guy and a good SVX clutch pack (six rings)
