  1. damn that sucks ya definitely. Even possibly a idler/ tensioner can cause that. Expierienced that on a forester 2.5 guy claimed bottom end found the timing belt tensioner was flapping around.
  2. Ya some of these turbo legacy's are way overpriced for there condition.
  3. yes atf can work wonders and much cheaper than mmo. Atf is a very good cleaner. I use it to clean misc stuff all the time! At the same time it cleans but prevents moisture and provides a good lubricant .
  4. If you undo the fuse box(actually removed the nuts it is behind it) there you can see the red horn relay. My relay was clicking on my 93 L yet no horn changed the relay worked fine. I am sure you can run wires from that red relay and figure out the wires using a meter.
  5. I am pretty confident they added the conditioner I remember even when I brought my 94 legacy in for a coolant change they added the conditioner and it doesn't require it. 2.2l turbo ftw
  6. Blue coolant is the standard fluid simply used now. I like the stuff looks nice lol. I personally don't use the conditioner even after I do a HG job. I have however been using blue coolant ever since it came out.
  7. Pretty sure it is the exact same from 91-94. You know what the perfect mix IMO would have been 91 lsd, front end and either or rear end without chrome, 93+ interior, 94 5 spoke wheels. Still loved my 94 SS(RIP) just the way it was!
  8. I forgot to mention I bought my 94 legacy turbo with non working awd. Opened the transmission saw the clutch housing had actually cracked! I swapped in a good 4eat and guess what torque bind!! Swapped the tcu with one from another legacy turbo no more torque bind and again had the same issue random power light flash on startup but dont recall it torque bind going away turning it on and off sometimes. Good luck pretty sure you found the source of your problem!
  9. If you do a search there is alot of information from other threads I have seen the wires are all there it is just a matter of gathering the parts. Just look belowwwwwwww
  10. It is located under the driver side its a gold box with the connectors facing down you will need to remove the plastic knee cover. It requires only removing 2 nuts and 3 connectors all easy access!
  11. Good post! AS much as people here hate 2.5's there is also VERY MANY aside from this community who have simply replaced the hg's on the 2.5 PROPERLY and have been driving for many many more years after the repair successfully without having to go down to a older underpowered higher mileage 2.2. I have had my share of 2.2l's which were trouble free yes! But I have repaired my share of 2.5's and those cars are driving around happily!
  12. did you check the ignition relay as well was there any signs of water on the fuel pump relay? and there is no CEL at all correct and the CEL light does work on startup?
  13. good to hear! A bit of a pain working on your back though but it's great once it's all done
  14. Ya it's a tight one had my fuel pump relay die in my 93 legacy wagon too. I replaced both the fuel pump and ignition relay. Look close to the side there is a brown relay and a silverish/white relay. Get some long pliers in there and pop them off there holders. You can then grab the wires or the relays from the bottom corner lying on your back and pull the wires down so they are more accessible and can easily be unplugged. I found mine were wet from rust around my winshield letting water in. I left my relays just dangling you can kind of tuck them under the carpet so they aren't just hanging by the wires. Another thing to make sure is all the grounds are good! I recently had a friend with again similar clicking and all of a sudden didn't want to start at all was towed to my house. Found the main ground to the motor was corroded cleaned that one, and ran a seperate ground for the motor and transmission and chassis with some nice connectors and everything was perfect car was also running better then ever with no hesitation! PS: forgot to add you need to remove the knee panel with 4 screws in order to see the relay.
  15. All the 08 wrx owners were probably pissed when the 09 wrx came out lol.
  16. My friend picked up a 08 wrx over a 09 wrx because it was very very cheap compared to the 09's. It's pretty decently quick nothing like a 265 but you can't go wrong and I think the car looks great it grows on you to the normal car ethusiast they wouldn't mind the looks of the 08 + . Only thing that sucks is compared to a 06-07 or 09+ the 08 won't make as much power with stage 2 accessport and dp. Regardless it is still a great car very quiet, smooth, handles great etc again still not as fast as a wrx 265 or sti but again very very good because of there resale IMO.
  17. Double checked missed 2 bolts. Came apart no problem just undid the rod bolts while it was partially separated.
