  1. Well i beleive the torque bind issue was solved as off pre 97 mid so dont need to worry about that, although the solenoid can still die. Do they both run very very well? And if they are the same price just 1 year apart maybe a legacy would be better just because its a larger vehicle. And make sure to go a carfax.com report on these vehicles to make sure theres nothing hidden. Also check the transmission to see if its low on oil or if its brown or smells burnt the oil, because i heard that if it goes low screws up clutches and if its burnt the clutchs got very hot and it burns the oil. Just little precautions. Make sure he has a history report on oil changes, check to see if the timing belt has been dont as well, and are we talking about a 2.2l engine or 2.5?
  2. Ya that makes sence, but that would be in a straight line it would bind as well.
  3. Just wondering , can we see pics of the damage, im just curious to see how only 1 door got hit.
  4. Did u hurt him badly? I mean ur subaru is totalled. Well hmm. Must be scary.
  5. Your clutchs for the AWD system seem to be ok if with the FWD fuse in theres no problem. This means the solenoid is alright, and the clutch packs arent melted. Definitly go for a trans oil change or flush. ANd with a used car its good to change all those things listed above timing belt, seals etc, oil changes for the transmission, diffs, engine. And things should be fine.
  6. Might be a loose valve which is simple to fix. My 93 leg had the same problem, so my dad's in the HVAC buisness, so he was able to get a hand off R12 refrigerant, and he used his leak detector and found no leaks except the valve, and now it has been 2-3 years and still freezing cold air. But ur going to need guages, the refrigerant and a leak detector is also good. You might be better off taking a trip to a dealer.
  7. So to drain the fluid is it like oil change just no filter to change? I never acually inspected to see how u do the oil change. So is it a plug on the pan, and to refill just pour into the top off the tranny somewhere?
  8. I doubt its the nut for the wiper, i remember i had to do to the dealer and get bushing and a complete wiper rebuild, fixed it up good. Cost me like 300CDN.
  9. I tryed that in my auto 93 leg in manual mode. I downshift early but it doesnt seem right.
  10. I suggest u complain to the acual subaru subaru not the dealer then call them and say WTF!!
  11. Might be better for u not to drive the car at all, because you will kill your solenoid sooner, or is that overrated? And like nipper said definitly get a tranny flush.
  12. This is really wierd, could be a bad apple. Try different dealers. Maybe ur over reacting.
  13. Ya my dealer told me the same thing, go point you made snow can get in there. But they told me barely anyhting will come out so i wouldnt worry about it for another 20,000km.
  14. Do u have a little override button infront like a button around the shift so u dont need to have the engine on or hit the brake to shift? Its not on the shifter itself its around the casing(well on my legacy).
  15. Just wondering u planning on doing 140mph? But i understand how much fun it is, usually sometime my dad would take it up to 125mph takes some time but it gets there and its super fun, however illegal. :burnout: good luck on your 140mph speedo.
