  1. Soo.. Just curious.. What do we do for the 21st century(thats where we are now)
  2. I think your best bet would be to go to a wrecking yard and just pull a complete driveshaft.. would probably be cheaper too
  3. Yeah, I always thought it was cool that they named a car after STDs..
  4. mine leaks from around the crank as well.. don't think that it is too uncommon
  5. I personally use the illumination lead for my stereo when hooking up aftermarket guage lights..
  6. Check on the older generation board.. Look for DR RX. He had an 87 RX with the WRX 2.0. Can probably give you some pointers.
  7. Its NOT a VW.. there is nothing even remotely VW that will interchange.. the only thing they have in common is that the engines are flat. Thank god it doesn't sound like a VW either. Your best bet for turbocharging is to find an original turbo car.. I believe turbone has an 84 or so turbo coupe for sale. Your next best bet would be to find a weber for it The EA81 motors are strong, reliable and fairly easy to find.. look around in the marketplace.. I'll bet you can find someone that has one for sale
  8. Even If they didn't fit, you would still have all that fender room for flex when out on the trail with your smaller tires
  9. There were a few dealer installed convertibles made.. But as far as I know, they were all done on coupe bodies.. if you saw a hatch convertible somewhere, it was probably someone with a sawzall and too much time on their hands
  10. Old saab sonetts, 95 and 96 came with a 3 cyl- 2 stroke motor. theres a guy in oregon that ralleys the 3 cyl sonett.. But then again, he also has a sonnet with an EJ18(?) maybe EJ22.. can't remember which
  11. Too Cool. OK city isn't too far away. That would be fun.
  12. Insurance companies/rental car places/dealers call the average yearly mileage 12-15k. Still, 20k per year isn't too bad. After all it is a subaru!
  13. Check the marketplace. there have been a few for sale there lately.. AND PLEASE DON'T POST IN ALL CAPS!!!
  14. If I remember right, the switch for the power seatbelts is part of the latching mechanism in the door.
  15. It looked like a coupe whe I saw it at the yard
  16. forgot about the autos.. was thinking about the pushbutton 4wd 5 spd.. oops
  17. Originally posted by JonOfScio either AWD, or FWD FWD or 4wd.. never seen one that was AWD.. except maybe the turbos
  18. That may very well do it..a gasket like that could cause your oil pump to suck air, causing the lifters to not pump up correctly. you might try the MMO treatment as well.. get some of the crud out.
  19. I found that instead of prying to achieve the proper angles, using a strategically placed jack to move stuff around was a lot easier. Steve and I did his 87 wagon in one day start to finish... quite feat considering neither of us had done it before
  20. Uh oh.. Now he knows they have dual range.. he's seen the lift.. $5 says he'll be asking about 14 or 15 inch wheels next:grin:
  21. I like my turbo motor.. its on its second car now.. been good to me. 160k or so.. its the only part of the car I really trust:rolleyes:
  22. OHC 1.8 in the looyale/FL type body is an EA82 EA71 is a 1600. pre 1980 or so
