Running Crappy
The solenoid replacement is pretty easy. Its mounted near the firewall on the drivers side.. couple of vacuum hoses. couple of wires, couple of 10mm bolts. and off it comes.

Air Ride????
Struts and spring and shocks and stuff from another soob will work

Battery Draining / Bigger amp Alternator
The XT6 alt is 90 amps, standars EA81 and EA82 alts are substantially lower in amperage.. 55 amps

Air Ride????
I also have an 87 GL-10 Turbo.. It came with Air ride, but it was taken off and replaced with regular struts/shocks.. you may have sprung a leak in the air boots.. That seems to be a common problem.. however, there are those that know more about those things than I do.. I just know that mine works just dandy with standard suspension in place of the air ride.. maybe ask electrycmonk.. he has the air ride on both of his wagons and seems to knw a bit about it.. His 87 GL-10 Turbo has air ride and a lift kit.

fuel cut eliminator circuit
One of those strut mount vacuum switches is for the turbo light.. the other is for the fuel cut off(again, vane style MAF).. if you only have one, its for the turbo light

Marnix I don't suppose you could get your hands on an EA82T ECU from your neck of the woods, could you? 87 or newer would be best. Thanks

87 GL: trouble starting when cold
Fuel injected.. SPFI? There's the Aux air valve that is supposed to kick the idle up when cold, or when the AC is on.. Yours wouldn't be the first one I have heard of going kaput

fuel cut eliminator circuit
The 85-86 Turbos(vane types) can have the fuel cut off bypassed by means of altering the above referenced vacuum switch.. 87 and newer(hotwire types) have to have fuel cut off bypassed by electronic means

Turbo and octane requirements for '03 Baja
calebz replied to CROSSTBOLT's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI have had all sorts of factory turbo cars.. Saabs, Volvos, Subarus, mitsubishis.. And even a couple of aftermarket turbos.. You really should run any turbo I have ever seen with the max octane you can get at the pump.. I have, both by experiment and by accident run 87 an 89 octane in my saabs and my subarus(the 2 turbo cars I have the most experience with) and I have had terrible results in relation to how well the car runs, Idles and performs.. If you have the money to spend on a turbo kit for a car, don't cheap out and put crappy gas in it.. I found some dyno results a few years ago, showed that an N/A honda got more power on 89 than 92 octane.. but the turbo Saab(95) got substantially more power with 92 octane. Like I said above, I have never seen a turbo car that likes anything under 91 octane.. And since we have 93 down here, my soob is even happier.

MSD Iginition
As miles said, it is best suited for certain applications. It would be more effective if you told us what car you have

My '84 Wagons new Interior
Oh well.. I was gonna say that those big rump roast feet didn't belong..

leaking sunroof 88 turbo wagon
I also have to occasionally give mine a little push.. You said you washed your car with a power washer.. I have seen very few sunroofs that DON'T leak under direct pressure form a power washer

Slightly OT: Salt In Washington (the state)
The only major rustmobile I have ever had in washington was an old pontiac that had taken a dunking down at ocean shores.. was fished out a few days later.. ran forever, but since the saltwater wasn't washed off.. well.. you know what salt does to a car My current subaru has been a washington car from the time it was new until I drove it down to TX a few months ago.. it has one rust spot about the size of a dime on the rear gate.. just surface rust though.. not rusted through. As ed says, they just use sand on the roads.. no need for salt.. theres only a couple of days of snow each year, usually followed by a couple of days of ice.. most people just stay home

Clone board? Weird
May cause trouble, but it irks the hell out of me for those people to take our posts, our experiences and our information and present it as their own
-
Clone board? Weird
Ok.. I retract what I said about mudrat participating as simon.. the sig threw me.. I noticed that simon posted later with what appears to be Jareds sig On the offroad tire post, it has a post that is an exact copy of the offroad tire rating thing.. I think it was Zap that posted it here? Anyway.. they are directly copying posts from here without giving credit to the original poster or board.. that is kind of irritating I see posts from Zap, Junkie, Jared, JCDenton.. don't know how many others have been straight copied over

LeoneTurbo is coming to the US this fall!
I do see a possibility.. Could be fun
-
Clone board? Weird
I read through the post about offroad tires on that board.. It starts off referring to the tires on Qman's Brat.. hmm.. how many of us are on that board aswell, I wonder. I see mudrat participates as "simon" over there.

I have a pic somewhere of my 87 GL-10 TurboWagon.. It was taken in CO..Looks a lot like the pic of your white 86.. not just the car, but the background as well.. at first glance, I thought it was my pic!
