Would you buy a "Service DVD" (video howtos)?
calebz replied to Syonyk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
My suggestion: Choose a random group of Beta testers and make a short 1-2 chapter Pilot. Make any changes you see necessary based on your beta feedback. If well done, this is a great idea. I would gladly purchase both a beginner and advanced set. I firmly believe in having every resource available. There is always something in one book or video that isn't in another. Caleb -
super ultimate hp gain ground wire?
calebz replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Absolutely. Smoothed out my idle and helps keep my digidash under control. I wish I had spent the money on one of the cool bright green kits. I hear those are good for 35+HP -
I read it before it was changed.. My butt doesn't hurt. Did I miss something?

Rock on! Those are great lights! -
Any time you turbo an NA motor and drive it the way it is supposed to be driven, it will be fun. Just make sure you either have a spare motor or the car isn't your daily driver, or both

In the original post, it refers to a Subaru model (prsumable meaning 'standard') Its also a common english acronym for 'sexually transmitted disease'

Thanks Matt. Coffee on my keyboard now.

You boys keep your STDs to yourselves:mad:
-
Sure For at least 15 seconds.
-
true, the USDM STi puts out a stock 300/300 The newer (V6 and up ) EJ207 comes near that right out of the box, but with forged internals and supposedly, a better fuel system.

Sounds like you have a case of old car saggy suspension starting. The problem sounds like it might be made worse by aftermarket / non subaru wheels. Soobs have a funky offset. Even using Stock Subaru Wheels after my 5 lug conversion, I had to roll the rear fender lips. Have you considered that as an option?

Using Diesel to increase octane ratings...
calebz replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Added suggestion. A number of the WRX/STi people around here are using an E85 mixture in their Subarus. Couple of gallons to a tank E85/93 octane mixture.. Substantially higher octane rating. Perhaps the math could work out with a Regular/E85 mixture. -
I wa there a few months ago. I haven't gotten over there in the past 5 years as often as I used to. But when I need peace and quiet, quite often thats where I head. My mother grew up there and I still have a bit of family in the area, so you never know when I might turn up there (though of late it has been mostly for funerals and such )

We finally have people in Ellensburg? SWEET!

Pics of intercooler, and question on how to find leaks
calebz replied to Subi81's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Depends on what you want, where you want to get it and how much you want to pay. May try a turbo truck forum for your application... And its not nice to yell. Thanks -
Careful now. I know where you live;)
-
Sure thing, I'll be right there
-
Time for a real turbo and you'll be set:banana: Really though. Thats a nice RX.

Nope, all post mortem info at this point is strictly conjecture. I have opened the hood twice since it blew up. Both times to show my custom IC y pipe. The car is still sitting in the driveway outside the garage bay it usually lives in. When it blew up I was about 3 miles from home and I said hell with it and drove it till it dropped. Namely, the last 3 miles home. It stopped in the driveway:clap:

Converting '82 GL-10 wagon from FWD-->4WD?
calebz replied to BoneCake's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
Nope. EA81 used the 4 speed EA82 used the 5 speed, which can be swapped in. Dunno if Andy covered it above, but remember to get a new gas tank with the diff dent in it. -
SOunds like the way my high compression turbo motor was acting before it assploded. oil freakin everywhere. +1 for blowby and boost leakage into the crankcase.

After the exchange rate it still only comes out to be 200-300 USD
