Group Buy: Allied Armament 15 x 6 Wheels
Shadyirishmen replied to Shadyirishmen's topic in Products for your Subaru
The wheels are coming. I just got confirmation that the wheels are finished and are being freighted here today. They should be here by Friday or Monday. I will be making arrangements for those people that I have promised to meet with for the delivery and will be shipping them immediately to those that are having them shipped. Thank you all for the wait, I promise next time this long delay will not happen. Thank you, James Malarkey Allied Armament www.alliedarmament.com -
That was AWESOME. The music was a nice touch. Now if you can just put that on prime time TV in America we may just build a huge following.

That picture is one that I show to people and they just about roll over. You got to love it.

Group Buy: Allied Armament 15 x 6 Wheels

Bump, I’m here. I am going to call and make sure everything is finished should be here shortly. Sorry for the terribly long wait. If anyone who bought in on the group buy wants anything from my company I will heavily discount it as a gift, because this has been an unacceptably long wait. Thank you for your patience JM Allied Armament -
Just watch the Intro video www.alliedarmament.com left click on the video and hit the pause button when the car is in the air. on the landing the car broke one strut (it collapsed) one front and one rear axle, bent a lower control arm, and broke a rear window (a bongo drum flew up from inside the vehicle and hit it). The lift was perfect and the rest of the car was fine, but all the components mentioned are the ones that will give out first before your car does.

Go look under a 2000 (or somewhere in that era) GMC/Cheverolet S-10 or Jimmy ZR2 and you will see that instead of using metal they used some sort of composite material to make their skidplate. A friend of mine had one and he ran the Sh*t out of it and it was durable as it gets. I would take a piece of plastic any day over steel for a skid plate. Steel bends and gets all sorts of destroyed (depending how thick it is) it doesn't have memory like most composites that can go back to there original shape. Sign me up for some synthetic skidplates

We could build a lift for it, but because you allready have Outback suspension on it you would only notice 2.5" inches of lift the outback suspension is longer by about 1.5" inches. The total lift would be 4" inches and it would reduce the angle on the axles you currently have (the outbacks have a factory lift in them for which I would imagine you do not have in your vehicle).

Well the final price isn't set but we just charged the University of Central Florida $650 for theirs. There putting it on an automated (NO DRIVER) Subaru legacy that is doing a 200 mile desert race!!! Anyways, we will stick to the $650 range for now until we know what we have into them. Most likely the price will be higher. If you get a hold of me and tell me what type of vehicle you have legacy or Outback I can get you more information. Pictures should be up on the website in the next couple of days.

I concur. The swampers are down right the Shizzle. You can't go wrong with them especially if you are going to promote your lift kits. You need all the right stuff and the Swampers just down right kick A*%.

Group Buy: Allied Armament 15 x 6 Wheels

There coming in the next Ten days for sure. I am so sorry about the delay, but you'll get them. A couple of the group buy members have received there sets already (Blue84 Hatch is one that I know of for sure). I ordered in access of what the group buy purchased so the order took a little longer to fill. Thank you for your patience. James Malarkey Allied Armament -
Sandlake Oregon Dunes August?
Shadyirishmen replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
If its still on I am down to go in August, I talked to you about it at the show and it sounds like a 4 sure deal. -
There are some steel bars that you have to weld to the front of the rear crossmember to lower it and stabilize it. He did it as a solution to the problem people were having with hitting there lower cross member when it was bolted (bending the crossmember and bolting area). I think the overall lift kit package is BAD rump roast he really put alot of time into designing it. The only problem is I dont really know how strong castings are. I know that if they have a void in them you can have some serious problems, but from what I felt SJR's castings felt solid. Anyways if you haven't seen it check out the video of the sub jumping at www.alliedarmament.com

The Footage is up it is on the front page of the website www.alliedarmament.homestead.com it should automatically load. -
Hey we finally built an OBW with a lift and took it to WCSS7 some members of the board can tell you about it. It is only a 2.5" lift (well its actually a 4" lift) but because your car comes with factory 1.5" lift we just redesign it to be 4"s I will have some pictures of it on the website in the next couple days. That might have been me if it was from my little hand held digital camera! That was my business partner driving the car (Albie) he's not all to computer literate yet but I'll make him a member of the board now that we have the internet at the shop. Anyways heres the damage report from the jump..... Drum roll please. One broken rear hatch, Broken right rear strut and front strut, one bent control arm and a wasted strut.... Not to bad and thanks to the subie community we got it back on the road and repaired for $60 and a few hammers. Thanks guys -

I was glad I finally got to put faces to the names. Always a treat to meet you guys and talk subarus. The Four Wheeling on the trails was a blast, and I want thank the guys who helped donate/sell parts to us after we broke down after the "big" jump. Had a blast and I'll definitely come back next year. Also I didn't realize there was so many lifted subaru's up north we should all get together and do some more trail runs . -
We are trying 3-4 inches any bigger and it requires new brake lines and other modifications that run the cash register up.
-
We tried it... The only problem is that you put your coilovers at slight angle to keep them from rubbing inside the shock well. We test everything really really hard and we usually jump our vehicles at about 30 mph on the hill on our home page. After the first jump they failed.
-
People hate when I advertise in the board, but I got to make a mention that Allied Armament is making a lift kit for the OBW/Sedans etc. We should have at least to of our vehicles with the lift installed at WCSS7. Unlike our EA 82 lift kit our lift for the OBW will not affect CV angle. These are only prototypes right now and we will not be offering to the public for at least another month, so keep your fingers crossed.
-
Im gonna hunt every junkyard now to find the the component.... We tried the stock struts from an EA 82 but they do not fit the fenderwell. Oh well closed innovation slows down development of new products. Thanks Mudrat for supporting the subaru community. I will C U at WCSS7 even though I will not be a vendor ...

I wasn't trying to sell anything I was just telling you and everyone else that there is an alternative (springs). :-\

Crawl 4 the Cure; Subarus Well Represented! - New Pic Location
Shadyirishmen replied to MorganM's topic in Off Road
I just have to ask chuxs one question about his rear axle!!! Was your rear strut extension turned up to its full length? If it was it puts the maximum amount of force on the rear axle, if you keep it at 4" level (standard length) you shouldn't have had any problems with your axles. -
AA lift and honda accord rear spring question..
Shadyirishmen replied to TurboSPFI's topic in Off Road
Chux you put your extensions all the way down thats some hard core for wheeling. I just keep mine at the 4" inch level. Ive done some serious 4 wheeling at the 4'' inch level and still haven't broke an axle. Hey have you got your bumper yet?
