  2. Well not everyone uses spacers when they make a lift kit!!!! We just made a lift for an EA81 for a member on the board and we only want to make a lift that can get maximum clearance. We had to use VW baha suspension components and retrofit them with custom springs to fit in the shock well in order to raise the rear suspension without using mounting blocks. 3. Will do it for $1500 no questions asked. JM Allied Armament www.alliedarmament.com
  4. I just converted a jeep snorkel to fit my subaru now I can ford through 4 ft of water if I wanted . I will pictures on my website soon.
  5. Woa, Your diff is leaking at the seal, get er checked out asap!
  6. We put bushings in between the hyme joints to protect them from vibration and theres is a bushing between it and the bolt. If you look at the first picture chuxs has the bushing on one side and not on the other... I contacted him along time ago to put the bushings in or else his rear strut would bounce around everywhere. the hyme joints should last the life of the car? But who knows for sure until we throw a 100k miles on the lift. As Mudrat79 says CHECK YOUR BOLTs, especially on the tube extensions. They are prone to loosening up over time. But, if you check them once or twice you can prevent them from falling out and bending sheetmetal.
  7. We can do whatever you guys want. For the most part we are just trying to keep the cost down but whatever accessories or added benefits you want we can do. James Malarkey Allied Armament http://www.alliedarmament.com
  8. Your definitely right about the down travel the more the better. Wheels on the ground = traction. The main point is that some people have a problem with the suspension over extending and making a loud wunk sound, I've only heard about it, and never had it happen or felt it. The volkswagen performance shop down the road tells me the best way to get around this is to leave one inch of down travel from the max extension of the swing arm?
  9. Dont worry, we make swing gates for both models
  10. Yea no problem we offer rear bumpers on the website. We can throw some tow points in wherever you want them. Im gonna send you a PM.
  11. do you think the gauge is bad? I have had several EA81's that the oil pressure would say 75psi. I would start them up idle around 5-10 psi and then vrrooom at 2000 rpms 75psi, came to find out bad pressure gauge, this happened in three of my vehicles
  12. Also I forgot to mention: Since no one has fully addressed it yet. The front camber is affected if you have adjustable struts and you turn them up its somewhere in the neighborhood of one degree to half a degree. The rear swing arm because it swings in an ark the rear camber is never affected if you lower/raise it. As mentioned before in this thread the there are no camber adjustments on a subaru so what you have is what you get.
  13. Try to keep at least one inch of down travel. If you do that you will never have the feeling of bottoming out your suspension.
  14. No but if you specify that you would like it to hold open we could fab it in.
  15. They are VW baja (aftermarket springs). We are looking at extending the swing arms also for added travel . We found an outfit that will fab them for us for a reasonable price. Can you imagine it now Vvvrrrrrroooooom jumping 8 feet in the air and landing on a cushion of air.

  17. I love those displays. I used to just twirl and twirl the hell out of those little wheels, and of course the oil never ever failed and always made it to the top. If you think about it even the thinner oil made it to the top (although very slim amounts). Think about this we were cranking those things at max (100-300 rpms) compared to a rearend that is spinning at 1000 + RPMs.
  18. How come the orginal poster of this thread has not replied???? Guess they realized their warranty would be voided.
  19. Yes but just drop your mustache bar you'll alleviate some of the strain. (Hey wait a minute morgan you cant do any mods to your car until you and numbchux do a comparison). We have been looking at doing suspension lifts and we have found some pretty bad rump roast struts with 4" inches of added lift and travel...
  20. Okay received payment from: Spanky Pete WJM Madmountainmonk Now I just need payment from: Suubscript Although I cannot wait any longer I am going to place the order with all my faith in the guy, and hoping that he pays.
  21. Im doing anywhere from 300 to 600 miles a week in my subaru. Its not dangerous, its just loud when the tires start rolling.
  22. We got your's and Fakefurs payment in the mail Friday. Thank You. P.S. Your lift should be sent out tuesday..
  23. I've experienced that before. Its called Subaru Nuclear Engine Failure Meltdown (thats what a hillbilly told me). I parked my car on the side of the road cause it was running funny. (I was 19 and didn't know that overheating for long durations could lead to your oil to catching on fire). While I was on the phone all I could hear was load sirens, I had to end my conversation because it was so loud then when I went to see what the commotion was.... It was my subaru in a ball of little suubie flames.:-\
